We stayed there during our trip along the east coast. Myrtle Beach is overpriced and too crowded so we decided to stay in Pawleys Island. Good location, maybe a mile from a beach, good restaurants around, and friendly staff. On the other side, the building and rooms are in need of cleaning. There was a strong smell of mold in our room and dark stains in the bathtub. There is no elevator.

Was much nicer than the Inn I just stayed at in N Myrtle last weekend for more money. I paid less here and got a much cleaner room. I would say this is a perfect place if your going to be in the Pawleys Island area. Safe, and quite. No pets, I think the pool was heated, if not, then this sun can warm up the water, it was bath warm. Workout room had no weights, and only an older bike, treadmill, and eliptical.

The location of this Holiday Inn Express is quite a way from Myrtle Beach, approximately a 30-40 minute drive. However, the price is low, the quality is there (including breakfast and free internet) and the beach just down the road is quiet and less built up. If you are looking for a beach holiday with the attractions within driving distance then this is a good option. You are away from all the noise and hulabaloo of the strip when you want to be.

I also recommend the hotel due to the proximity from Murrell's Outlet, which is a charming little string of restaurants and shops. You can get some great seafood there.

We arrived at this hotel and checked in. We went to the room and it smelled like mold and mildew. I have some breathing issues and knew that I could not stay in that room. We checked out 2 other rooms and had to go to the front desk and advise them that we could not stay in the hotel. We then went down the road to the Hampton which was new and the rooms were clean and beautiful. The Holiday Inn Express said they were going to be redone, but I wouldnt stay there until I checked the rooms to see if they were redone. One of the worst hotels I've ever stopped at.
