I stayed @ the quality inn in orangeburg the night after christmas because I traveled up to orangeburg from ridgeland to visit my family the day after christmas. I requested a smoking king room when i made my reservation but when i got to hotel to check in, all of the smoking king rooms had been taken so they put me in a non smoking room and gave me an ashtray,which was slack on their part because what about a person who dont smoke? They will smell smoke when they check in. The door had very big gaps in it and the cold air was rushing through the gaps and it was cold outside and it took forever for my room to heat up. I had to run the heater FULL blast all evening and all night even though i went out and bought tape to try to stop the cold air from coming in my room. Room was not too clean. 1 small bar of soap, no shampoo and 2 towels along with 2 facecloths a bathmat and 1 hand towel was all we got in our room. Cleaning staff needs to be supervised and rooms checked thoroughly by someone who knows what they are doing. I work for a choice hotel but the hotel i stayed at is DEFINATELY NOT up to standards.....

This hotel has roaches, the worst service. They never answer
phone even for emergency. This is the worst hotel bar none.

This inn was ideally located and had all thats required for a nice stay.The rooms were spacious and well appointed and of course clean.The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful which made my experience here very pleasant and memorable.
It is good value for the price too.

My mother is originally from Orangeburg, so we were there with some extended family for her (and her siblings') high school reunion. As usual, I had my husband and children with me, while my aunts, uncles and cousins were in other rooms. The first room I got was very dimly lit, the floors were damp and stained with what I believe was mold or mildew, the ceilings were stained, the toilet ran, the bathtub was dirty, the towels were dingy and the bed was off-balance. I have allergies, so the dampness and mildew alone were enough to have me ditch the room. I immediately returned to the front desk to request a room change, which was granted without a problem. The front desk staff was pleasant, as was the manager. However, the next room wasnt that much better, except the floor was dry and a tad bit cleaner than the first and the bed stayed still. The lighting was still bad, however, the leak stains on the ceiling were smaller than in the first room, the toilet was quiet and the bathtub wasnt as dirty. But we practically had to beg the cleaning staff for clean towels and wash cloths... No fun.
