“Country Inn & Suites Orangeburg”

This was the first time our family stayed in a Country Inn & Suites. (We normally stay at one of the Marriott hotels.) We were a little leery when we heard the low price, but, were traveling with a pet so ... We were very pleasantly surprised. Our room was clean. Complimentary breakfast was great. The only negative was the prior occupants had left a sandwich in the microwave and apparently the cleaning personnel didn't check it. I found the sandwich right away and took it to the cleaning personnel who happened to be in the hall outside our room, and they profusely apologized. We will stay here again when we travel from WV to FL.

“Great Pet Friendly Hotel & Awesome Staff”

We recently stayed overnight here on our way from Florida to Virginia. We had a small pet and 3 young children and were very much looking forwad to getting out of our crazy car and into a hotel for a much needed rest after driving so far. I picked this hotel based on the fact they accept small pets and was pleasantly surprised with how nice it turned out to be. We arrived late and tired and the staff could tell we needed to get the kids to bed. They checked us in very fast and also gave my husband a law enforcement discount when they saw his ID in his wallet! The suite was decorated nicely, clean, and well stocked. They offer a free breakfast which was way above our expectations - fresh fruit, waffles, eggs, bacon, bagels, cereal, everything you could want and more!! Saved us alot of money and filled us up for the next leg of our trip. When we arrived in Virginia, we realized our 5 yr old left his favorite toy at the hotel. We called and they had already found it and had it safely stored in the managers office. We were so impressed that we stayed there on our way back to Florida. Our son was so happy to see his toy again and we were so thankful for such wonderful customer service.
Nicely decorated and no pet odors, awesome breakfast, staff goes above and beyond to accomodate you, accepts pets and nice suites for larger families! Couldn't ask for anything more!

“Great pet friendly hotel minus the kennel odor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2011

This was Orangeburg's last chance with me! Just because you travel with a little dog doesn't mean you should have to stay in a dump of a hotel! The beds were great the carpet was clean and the parking lot is well lit for an evening walk .... I will now stay here when I travel from PA to FL, That is, if the hotel stays in it's current condition!

Whatever you do don't stop at the Days Inn Orangeburg ...you will fear for your life!

“Nasty with a Capital N”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2011

Run, Run away very Fast. Especially if you are alergic to pets.
Carpet was extremely nasty with Red stains everywhere.
Walls had Mystery marks everywhere. Wonder what those were under the sink?
Staff was extremely nice and Friendly. Great rate unless you want to pay to stay in filth.

“Nice Hotel with Breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2011

I stayed at the Country Inns & Suites in Orangeburg, South Carolina on July 5, 2011. The hotel was clean, and the people were friendly. The hotel has an exercise room consisting of some simple equipment like treadmills and an exercise bike. There is also a small indoor pool and hot tube; actually the hot tub is large, in that it is actually a small rectangular pool. The room I was in had 2 full size beds, a dorm room size refrigerator, microwave, TV, coffee maker – well, the normal stuff you would expect in a more expensive hotel. At the front desk, they had coffee, cookies, and apples. The hotel also allows pets, which is not a problem.

The room was very clean, and the bed felt like it was new -- the mattress was nice and firm with lots of support. Very comfortable.

The Hotels biggest PLUS is the staff. They are very hospitable. They reminded me of the personalized attention of a bed and breakfast. And speaking of breakfast, well, in the morning there was breakfast. I don't know if this is the southern version of a continental breakfast, but it's impressive. They had waffles, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, sausage, cereal, oatmeal, waffles, biscuits and sausage gravy, apple juice, orange juice, peach punch (yep, this is South Carolina), milk, cinnamon rolls, bagels and fruit; oops, forgot, there is also coffee. Yep, a full breakfast that is tended to by a delightful hotel employee.

If the breakfast is not good enough for you, or if you would rather be served breakfast than getting it yourself, then there is a Cracker Barrel next door. Actually, I walked over there for supper the night I arrived. I believe there is also a waffle house close by, but the breakfast at the hotel is far more than I usually eat for breakfast, and they do a good job.

The hotel is off the main road a few blocks, which I liked; no road noise. There is nothing worse than being in a hotel where you hear trucks all night.

The only complaint I had, if you would even call it that, was when I arrived in my room, there was a strong perfume smell which I was told was a room deodorizer. I simply opened my window and aired out the room for a few minutes. It ended up not being a problem at all.

The nights stay was in the $100 range, which is a great value for the money.

Would I stay at this hotel again? Definitely.
