Whenever I travel to Orangeburg for alumni events, I always stay at the Best Western, and I'm never disappointed. This hotel has a very friendly, helpful staff, and is always clean. I've read other reviews mentioning unpleasant odors in the rooms and uncomfortable beds, but that has never been my experience. My one criticism is that breakfast is not very good. Fortunately, there are nearby restaurants serving pretty decent and affordable meals.

We stayed here on the way to Florida....We have decided to make the 1200 mile trip in 3 days,
so that means 2 nights stay in hotels....We choose this hotel because we thought the standards
are hiogher (Holiday Inn Express )than some of the lower priced hotel chains....This hotel was ok,but the Tv was old...The room needed some fresh paint and an a general freshen update...
The washroom was a little dated and could have used a face lift...
The 2 queen beds were clean....
We found the staff to be reluctant to help with some problems we had....We are be far the easiest people to get along with on the planet,so when a simple request is like pulling teeth,well
we just don't understand ...
Overall , that is why we rated this hotel only average and not better .....
The breakfast was great here.....
We are looking at finding 2 permenant stop hotels for our drives to / from Florida ..
We may try another hotel in this area....

We usually stop mid way to Florida from Ohio and always are looking for a good place to stay. The Best Western Plus in Orangeburg is an excellent choice. Our stay was a very enjoyable one from check-in to check-out. The staff is very friendly. The room was very clean and well appointed. We had a double queen room on the second floor. The breakfast bar, though not extravagant, met our needs with a good variety of items. It was a very clean area and the staff was friendly.

Orangeburg has always been a difficult over night stop for our annual family trip to Florida and continues to be an issue for us. The Best Western is not the best. The rooms all had a strange, overwhelming smell. On entering the hotel, we were greeted by a lovely person who directed us to our room. On opening the door, the odor was obvious. It was suppose to be non-smoking but with the odor and lack of AC, we could not tell what the odor was. Another room was suggested by the front desk person, but that room smelled even stronger. Turning the AC down to 60 degrees cooled the room somewhat in an hours time but by morning the room still did not feel cool. My children never complain about beds, but when they woke up complained of back aches. Breakfast was not much to talk about but was sufficient for an over night stay. I was happy not to hear the train in this hotel during the night, although my wife reported hearing it. My son loved the warm indoor pool.
