This is our first time staying here. We had a pleasant surprise. The rooms were fine for a short stay. We liked the swing at the front of the hotel. It was nice to swing and watch the tourists walk around. The deck upstairs had a good view. We could see cars, tourists, and other hotels. This is an old place, yet it is clean and friendly. The downside is no pool. The positive is the cheap rate.

ABSOLUTE GREAT ONE-NIGHTER MOTEL!! In the summer the rooms will run you up to the high 90's because everything else is booked out. I do not reccomend this place for a week long family vacation. But if your passing through, doing a weekend, or just you and a few friends looking to party it up.....then this place is it. For a few bucks more you can get their one (and only) suite which has two beds, pull out couch, small kitchen W/ huge refrigerator. We stayed a weekend and absolutely loved it. the suite has plenty of room for a small family or up to 6 young adults who dont mind the squeeze. Its on 7th Ave South in North Myrtle and and 7 beach blocks equal about one actual block. and on main street (7 beach blocks up) is where the popular spot is with the arcades, ice cream shops, the main beach access, bike rentals, etc. You are right on Ocean BLVD which is literally 10 big across the street from the water.

Ive been a lifeguard for North Myrtle Beach the past 4 years and everytime I come in for training or I am just out with a few friends this is the first place I come to no matter what. Its not a spot free eat-off-the-floor kinda place, but a beach motel. Alot of sand, that rusty look, but its cleaned daily, staff is awesome, and the location is great. Once again...definately not a week-long vacation suite..but its great for a few nights. BEWARE...DO NOT get the their suite if its bike week of ANY KIND. Their suite is overlooking ocean BLVD and you can see a bit of water, but you will get 10-15 minutes of sleep because of bikes doing 100MPH at 15000RMP's and burning out right infront of your room. no matter what you put on or lock tight, that noise will haunt you the rest of your life!! lol, seriously its not THAT bad but interefere with sleep is a guarenteed, otherwiserwise Tied for #1, if not the best motel in NMB, the other great motel there is the pelican Inn, in cherry grove, right in front of beaulinos (IGA)-spelling?

I picked the High Tide because of the Trip Adviser reviews. I stayed for one night and it was ok. Keep in mind that if you pay in the neighborhood of $45-55 that is the type of room you get. You don't have coffee, much space in the room, breakfast, fitness center, etc. You may get a clean room, clock on the wall, a decent remote control TV, a kitchenette and a coke from a machine for fifty cents. If you are willing to accept a room without frills , great. If you are spoiled and are used to having rooms with more fluff then you may want to upgrade to a more expensive motel.

This was a great find! I am always nervous when it comes to motels (because we had one really bad experience in a motel in MA) however, thanks to all the reviews - we decided to stay and are very glad we did! This is a great place to stay especially if you're looking for a simple place to sleep and shower - and save your money for attractions and places to eat! We made our reservation the same morning we arrived and paid $82/night when all other hotels were way over $180/night - and those are the hotels that were miles away from the beach. The staff was very nice....and the room was clean (no bugs or funny smells). The beach is right across the street and it is also a short walk to Main Street. My husband and I would definitely stay here again.
