“Worst Experience of my Liftime”

I'm too frustrated to give all the details, so I'll just give a bulleted list.

- Room was filled with a terrible smoke smell.
- Moved us to a new room, this one sucked too. It didn't even have a table.
- We tried to get our money back, but since we booked through Expedia, no such luck.
- Defeated, we decide to go to dinner and just call it a night.
- We return to our room after dinner to find that we've been locked out of our room.
- The woman in the front said that "we forfeit the room" since we called Expedia trying to get a refund. They wouldn't be giving us a refund.
- When I confronted them about the satiation, they pretended to call the police, stating that I was trespassing. Yes, I am serious.

“Total Disgrace”

Don't waste time or money staying here!! The hotel foyer and hallways were very dirty upon arrival. The room was any better it was disgusting. We reserved a room with a king size bed which was confirmed at check in but when we enter our room it was a room with two queens. Our toliet was clogged and out of service when we checked in. The daytime staff was friendly and they did service the toliet quickly. When turning on the shower the water was ice cold and took at least 15 minutes to warm to lukewarm. The first night there we were meeting our daughter and son in law for dinner. We left our 15lb terrier behind in room. During dinner we recieved two phone calls from the hotel. When we called they told us we needed to come back and we couldn't leave our pet in the room he was barking. We go back to the hotel, there is no sound from our dog, we try to enter our room with the key several times and it won't open. Meanwhile even with us trying to break into the room our dog never barked. We go to the front desk and learn that the night staff had changed our locks and locked us out!! The next day when we are checking out our neighbors who were staying at the hotel with their pug were drying their dog off after giving her a bath, they informed us that their room, room 119 was infested with FLEAS!! They had been biten and the fleas were all over their pug. They had words with the manager who did not give them any refund and blamed it on the kind of people who bring their dogs there! A very ridiculous staff to say the least and a very nasty, disgusting, rude hotel! DO NOT stay here!

“Unbelievably bad ...”

This hotel will be one of the cheapest you will find in a Myrtle Beach search but DO NOT be tempted to stay there. Too may complaints to list. Have sent three e-mails to La Quinta corporate drawing their attention to this flea pit of a hotel but they choose not to reply. Why the LQ home office allow this excuse for a motel to continue operating under the La Quinta brand name is a complete mystery. Can only think it is no longer part of the La Quinta chain but they continue to operate as such. OMG! it was a nightmare!!!

Room Tip: Can't imagine their are ANY good rooms there ....

“BED BUGS!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

Arrived 10/22/2011 at 3:45 pm. Checked in, put stuff in my room and departed to return to my room at 10 pm. Room 303. Shower made extremely loud squeal, remote for tv did not work. Upon laying on bed several bugs appeared within 5 minutes. I killed two with my hand before realizing they were bedbugs. Checked other bed and it also had them. Went to front desk to change rooms, they gave me 515. No bugs in 515. Got on internet to research bedbugs, confirmed that is what I saw. Upon checkout next day retold front desk personnel that room 303 had bedbugs. Was told that the manager would call me and give me a discount for having to change rooms. I received no call and was charged full price.
My job as a pilot requires me to stay in hotels 100+ nights per year, this is the only one I have stayed in with bedbugs. Due to fact that management never followed up by contacting me, I am sure hotel will not do what it takes to get rid of the bedbugs. Sleep in your car before staying at this hotel!

Room Tip: ANY other hotel, or your car, would be better.

“Front desk personnel were friendly but wouldn't stay here again.”

We're pretty easy going, but this was the worst La Quinta we've stayed in. The front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful, but this place really needs renovation, and a major improvement in the cleaning staff and maintenance. We even had a room change with similar results. Here's a list:
1. Lukewarm water at best. Asked to have it corrected. Said they'd "get right on it," but so far, no improvement.
2. Hair on toilets, sheets, and pillow cases. Yuck!! :(
3. Toilet seat coming off. My husband fixed it with his own tools because they "don't have maintenance staff."
4. Floors didn't appear to be vacuumed.
5. Tub silicone caulking coming off. Mildew on shower curtain. My daughter felt like wearing flip flops in the tub.
