I booked this hotel on hotwire.com, I am a frequent user of this site and it has never failed me BESIDES the other day. I was visiting the surrounding area, and booked the hotel online. After, I learned the name of the hotel ..I read the horrid reviews on Trip Advisor, I was speechless, I called hotwire right away, and they told me my reservation was unrefundable. With no hope in getting our money back we thought HOW BAD COULD IT POSSIBLY BE? The second the gps directed us off the highway onto the hotel exit we knew what we were in for. The hotel is located in a very unsafe, dangerous neighborhood. It is surrounded by run down and abandoned buildings and is located right next to an extremely loud highway. Before I get any further let me inform you the Better Business Bureau has this exact hotel rated as an F. Upon pulling into "HELL" we thought the hotel shut down because we were the ONLY car in the parking lot. The appearance of the hotel is extremely run down, it looks like a motel you would find in a ghost town. I asked the lady at the front desk if it was actually decently safe around here, she told me yes....(haha) We get our keys, and proceed to the room. What we then walked into I wouldn't even pay $20 a night for such an disgusting and dangerous room. There were 2 holes in the wall, looked like they were from being punched. The carpet had debris all over it and we found TWO COCKROACHES dead on the floor. The carpet looked like no one had ever brought a vacuum to it. The front door didn't shut all the way, when you locked it you could still see a little slit of light coming inn from the outside. The first thing I noticed was the holes, and the second thing I noticed is we had a connecting door to the room next to mine and it appeared not to be locked. I go to the door to make sure it was locked, and sure enough it wasn't, I attempt to lock it and it will not lock. My husband attempted to shut it and it still would not work. We go to the front desk and tell the women that the door doesn't lock, that anyone can walk into the room. She tells us that the lock is broken and there is no one there to fix it and that she will make sure they do not put anyone in the room next to ours. I just left it at that, I was already so furious and knew that we wouldn't even end up staying and just walked out. I got back into the room and slid the desk in front of the unlockable door. When I came back my husband told me to go look at the washroom, it looked like it was never clean. At that point I had absolutely had it, I went on my phone and searched for hotels in the area. I ended up paying $200 for a standard room at the Holiday Inn in the historic district, at that point I was willing to pay anything to leave there. Please for your own safety and health please do not stay here. I am in the process of contacting hotwire.com and corporate of Rodeway Inn about this motel that should not be operating. I never thought it would be possible for somewhere where people are actually supposed to sleep and relax to be in such poor uninhabitable condition. No matter what the low price is, even if it was free DO NOT STAY HERE, you will be safer in a tent on the side of the road than here.
