“Stay away”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Checked in friday 2/3 for a one night stay....and im thankful it was only 1 night! The ONLY positive thing about this hotel was the staff. They were friendly and seemed genuinely concerned, outside of the that everything else was pretty bad. The outside was in serious need of a facelift 20years ago. The inside smelled like chlorine everywhere because of the pool. The rooms were old and in need of an upgrade and the sleep number beds were AWFUL. surrounding area didn't appear to be very safe. If you have to stay in Charleston id go for one of the higher priced hotels "Downtown" in the City.

Room Tip: Avoid the Sleep Number Beds

“Oh Boy!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

I checked in at about 7:30 PM on February 2, 2012. I reserved 2 rooms the night before for 3 nights- 1 room was 2 queen beds, and 1 king. I was informed they only had 1 of my rooms ready when checking in, LUCKILY I was able to get an additional room, they did do very well as to giving us adjoining rooms because we are traveling with close friends - so that was about the only plus here. This hotel is NON SMOKING, but you are ALLOWED pets, which make NO sense what so ever. Pets can make more of a mess then cigarettes and I'm not saying they should designate all the rooms to be smoke free, but only a select few for people who do smoke, I say 40/60. We were also informed that their "Atrium" (pool/jacuzzi) was CLOSED from 4pm-12:30am for a PRIVATE event the upcoming Saturday - COMPLETE crap!! I do not agree with this at ALL - I believe ALL guests should have FULL access to the amenities regardless of what is going on, if not a discount should be given. There is NO maintenance staff on site at NIGHT, so good luck if your AC/HEAT breaks, because you're out of luck. The rooms have "sleep number" beds, JOKE! The second bed in my room has a wireless remote, NO BATTERY, NO BACK COVER, NO MAINTENANCE + HARD BED = UNCOMFORTABLE!!! This place is UNREAL. We have a first floor room, ice is on the 4th = more inconvenience!! The bottle water on the sink, leave it there - they'll charge you if you drink it!! I haven't even made it through one night and I already have complaints!!

Room Tip: ALWAYS rip your sheets off and CHECK for bed bugs!!!

“Would have left if I could”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

I landed and the airport and called for the shuttle, it took them over 40 minutes to get there. I figured it was just further away or something, but no the ride was about 10 minutes. Unfortunately I didn't plan on waiting long and stood outside in the cold. Another shuttle bus driver offered me the chance to sit in his van until mine came, I should have hopped in and asked to go to their hotel. Eventually the van arrives and the driver wasn't too pleasant. We drove for a few minutes when the hotel called back and said there was another pick up, so he turned around and went back. When finally getting to the hotel and we were pulling up all I was thinking was not what I had imagined from the pictures. Checking in was quick, but I asked about their restaurant or room service and she stated the restaurant closed at 9pm or something like that, I got there just before 10pm. That was disappointing cause I picked that hotel for the room service since I knew I would be getting in later. Then an odd scenario happened and a cop came in and looked towards a guy behind the desk on the phone and they had a conversation about how the "guy" went to Exxon then he told the guy on the phone that he had to be around this area. Really made me uneasy about my stay trying to figure out exactly what they were talking about. Like I said if I could have left I would have. The hallway to my from kind of made me nervous to see my room, they were kind of dark and dingy, but got to my room and it was decent. I had the sleep number bed and mine worked fine, I had no problems like some of the other reviews stated. Luckily I only had to stay one night and I was off to Georgia the next day. This was definately not what I expected of a Radisson and will be cautious if I choose a Radisson again.

“Typical older middle of the road airport hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Ingress and egress to this hotel can be a problem depending on you travel direction. The hotel interior really showed its age. The hallways were dark, narrow, and musty smelling. The elevators smelled like insecticide. My room had what appeared to be one of the first table-top color TV's ever with a remote that did not work, and the bathtub bottom was cracked open. The exercise room and pool were better than the rest of the hotel. I stayed here to attend a training conference that was held at the hotel. The front desk staff and the cleaning staff were very nice. The conference room area was also better than the lodging area of the hotel. This hotel did not provide any complimentary meals. I would probably not stay here again.
