We picked the Holiday Express in North Charleston because of its reasonable rates, its closeness to several attractions and downtown Charleston, and the great reviews on this website. Our stay was six nights so it was important to us that we liked the place, and we did! We found many things to recommend this lodging: a clean, quiet, comfortable room; a very satisfactory breakfast (included with the room); a managers reception on most weeknights; a computer with free internet service for us to use; free,adequate parking; laundry facilities for guests; nearby restaurants; and a friendly staff. They even gave us a gift bag of snack food when we arrived because we are Priority club members.
Restaurants in area that were our favorites: Sticky Fingers (next to the hotel)--great ribs.
Carrabbas--Italian--went twice!
Northwoods Shopping Mall was only a couple of blocks away.
Favorite attraction nearby: Old Santee Canal State Park in Monk's Corner. Very interesting to us Pacific Northwesterners.

We spent two nights at this motel while visiting the Charleston area. It is about 12 miles or so from historic Charleston but an easy drive to there. Close to a mall, shopping and restaurants. We ate at the Sticky Fingers next door and it was great. The motel is quiet, clean, and has a very good breakfast. The staff were excellent especially Michelle who helped us alot with choices of what to see and do while we were there. We weren't able to use the pool due to the season but it looked great. We would definitely stay here again if we were ever in the area. Great value - you won't be disappointed.

My wife and I were traveling back from Florida and needed a place to stay roughly halfway home. I was unable to book anything downtown due Valentine's Day, so I looked a little further out. Based on the reviews on TA, and the available price, I booked us into the Holiday Inn Express.

We were pleasantly surprised at the large size of the room and the comfort. I normally have to use a pillow from home because I'm a "side sleeper," but the ones provided in the room were more than adequate. The room was quite clean and well-kept. The shower had the best water pressure I've seen in a hotel in a very long time.

It was a great value and I'd use it again if I'm staying in the Charleston area.

Our home had a flood and we needed a place to stay a last minute's notice. This hotel was very conveniant to Rivers Avenue, the Northwoods Mall, dining and the interstate.

The room was accomodating--had a half-size fridge, microwave, popcorn, dishes, utensils and dish wasking soap (I was amazed since we didnt book a fancy room)

If we have an emergency again, or just some relatives in town, we will use this hotel.

A great location, close to a shopping mall with a large number of restaurants nearby to choose from. A short car ride to the historic town of Charleston itself. Costs represent good value for money. A reasonable breakfast provided for free.

Next door, a small pond contains local examples of "fauna" - 3 alligators & many turtles on view. Do not over-drink in Sticky Fingers restaurant next door and fall into the pond on your way home!!

Staff very helpful and friendly. Strongly recommended.
