“Great Choice”

We and 4 other rooms of family met and stayed at this hotel. The staff went above and beyond to accomodate and make us feel welcome. We were in town for a family funeral. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The breakfast was above average. Very nice and a good value. Overall -very good experience and very impressed. Holiday Inn will once again be on our radar for a nice clean place to stay in the future. Manager's reception in the early evening was remarkable and oh so good! Thanks Joe!

“Nice & new but not close to downtown.”

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights over a weekend- we were in Charleston for a business retreat and the hotel we booked gave away our reservation. Luckily, our Priority Club membership got us a very nice King suite on zero notice for $99. The staff were very helpful, the hotel looks new & nicely decorated. Loved the beds/linens- clean, white, crisp. They didn't offer feather pillows, which is my preference, but otherwise we slept very well. Good free breakfast. There was a nice naturalized area in the back, with a pool (closed for the season). It would be fine for a business traveler or a family with young children. Only complaint was the distance to downtown- about 15-20 minutes by car & approx. $25 cab ride. (cabs are infrequent in North Charleston). Overall-a pleasant experience.

“A great balance!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2011

This HIE offers all sorts of terrific amenities: a VERY helpful and attentive staff, an extremely attractive price [especially for such a famous tourist area]; a “classy” room that was well-appointed; about a 10-minute drive [via expressway] to the downtown historic areas, yet away from all of that hurly-burly during the evening hours [and during the week, a free “Manager’s Hour” of treats, beverage, and relaxation in the dining area!]; nearby malls within 5 minutes walk/drive; quick access to the seemingly-endless attractions that surround Charleston, be it beaches, historic landmarks, sailing, or virtually anything you could think of. Be sure, too, to gift yourself with at least one of the many tours available at the Visitors’ Center—if you do, you’ll likely never forget the glories of the place and the historical education. And even the kids will love it!

“This is the place you want to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

As President of the Navy MSO Association Inc. We spend a great deal of time setting up our Crew Reunions. For 2011 we chose Charleston, South Carolina and we located a little gem of a Hotel on Northwoods Blvd in North Charleston that turned out to be OUTSTANDING in Every respect. Clean and Comfortable throughout. Modern decor, Extremely Helpful and Personable staff and management. Front Deck Clerks were AMAZING, Day and Night management, Security, Southern Hospitality. The Breakfasts are AWESOME. Their meeting rooms are a perfect place to set up and reunite. There was not a thing we had to complain about except for maybe noise levels at night from OTHER establishments on properties nearby. Their evening Managers get together is also a lovely touch that our guests enjoyed. We have stayed at many hotels along the reunion path thru the years, The Holiday Inn Express North Charleston/Ashley Phosphate will remain a very stong contender for a long time to come. PS CHARLESTON is a most Beautiful Place to visit. There are PLENTY of sights and places to eat and enjoy as well as AMPLE shopping. Try it, you will NOT be sorry.....

Room Tip: We stayed on the first floor close to the Breakfast area and meeting rooms which made the continuous...

“Decent accommodations, but nothing remarkable”

This is a relatively new and spiffy facility, about 10 minutes from the historic district that draws most tourist interest. Well furnished and clean. No restaurant on site (and nothing much beyond fast food joints nearby). Free parking. Rates (about $105 per night, AAA) struck us as higher than the location and amenities warranted -- but Charleston itself is a relatively expensive city to visit.
