I'm the first one to compliment great experiences but unfortunately my stay at Red Roof Inn on Northwoods Blvd. in North Charleston was HORRIBLE. The room is MUCH smaller than the picture on line (good angling of camera I guess). There was a big spider in the room and then 2 roaches crawling up the wall which sickened me. There was also little brown balls on the bathroom floor which I thought were snails.....come to find out they were some kind of bug called "roly poly" that curl up into a ball. They were all over the bathroom floor. There was an ugly rust stain in the shower and the floor (don't look under your bed) was filthy! Also, the toilet was not flushing correctly. I couldn't sleep that night and checked out at 7:30 a.m. because I couldn't wait to get out of there. I told the lady at the desk how disgusted and disappointed I was and I wanted to see the manager. She instead apologized and gave me a $30 credit for my unpleasant stay. The room was NOT worth $69.99 plus tax and on top of that, when you check in, they make you sign that you are aware they will charge your credit card $1.50 for the safe in the room. I told her I knew I would not be using it so why were they charging me? She said that I have to tell them upon checkout that I didn't use the safe and they would credit me. Why be hassled? How many people check out and FORGET to ask for that credit??!!!! I'm sure A LOT! I would NOT recommend this hotel. Even with the credit, it wasn't worth it!!!! We weren't familiar with the area and picked Red Roof Inn because restaurants were close by and other hotels were higher priced. Had I known, I would've paid more for a better place but I thought $69.99 would have given me a decent, clean room. We did some research and found a DAYS INN in Ladson...........at 119 Gateway Dr. WOW what a DIFFERENCE!!! BEAUTIFUL, CLEAN SPACIOUS ROOM. EXCELLENT SERVICE and CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. THAT'S WHERE I RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO GO. IT IS WONDERFUL!!!! The rest of our visit in Charleston was wonderful thanks to this great Days Inn find!!!!!

We let Hotwire select this inn and we were pleased with its location, safety and good beds. We had no problems here. We brought our own breakfast since none is provided here and enjoyed their good hot coffee from the office. We had a microwave in the room so we could reheat the coffee and warm our breakfast. The location is great for spending the day in Charleston.

Booked a room at this hotel through the Hotwire 'Mystery 2-Star' price/reservation. The room I paid for was the standard room. Check in was pleasant and the room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. I was traveling with a small dog and they have a grassy area in the back for walking your dog. (At check in, I signed a pet agreement form basically stating where my dog was to be walked, not allowed to leave pet unattended in room, etc.--there was NO pet fee for my entire stay) I was very pleased with my accommodations. This hotel is located about 14 miles from historic Charleston and 3-4 miles from the Tanger Outlet Mall. There are restaurants, a shopping mall and other hotels surrounding this location--which is very convenient for any of the above. Although they do not have an onsite restaurant/diner, they do offer a menu for delivery service food items if you are hungry and do not want to leave your room.

We were pleasantly surprised by the location, upkeep and cost of this hotel. We stopped here on the North side of Charleston on July 2, 2011, not knowing what to expect. The location is good, very near a large shopping mall and many restaurants and shops.
The room was well appointed, clean and the entire hotel seems to be kept up well. I would stay there again
