Rooms were a joke. Musty smell, tub stained by an old runner (no longer there), dull paint on walls. Carpet filthy, old & ugly furniture. Some family/ friends in other rooms reported mildew. We pulled comforts & sheets back, mattress looked clean, no bed bugs noticed (thank God)! It rained & parking lot flooded.
Great location, easy exit, plenty of restaurants, shopping plaza/ Wal-Mart. Need upgraded since location near by Military Base. (When was the last upgrade?)
Three days max. Cheap in price!

My wife and I recently made a three week driving trip down the eastern seaboard; twenty-one nights in hotel rooms. I was quite angry with the state of two of the hotels we stayed at and wanted to let people know and hopefully have them improve. My wife said it wasn't fair to rant about just the bad ones so I decided to do two good ones and two bad ones. This is one of the bad.
We had reserved a no smoking room, king size bed, preferably lower floor as there were no elevators. On arrival we were checked into room 138. When we opened the door we were greeted with a very strong smoke smell and immediately returned the desk. After being given the impression that there weren't many rooms available we were given room 121 on the opposite side of the building. Don't believe the photos on the internet!!! There was barely room to turn around. The chair and ottoman were stained and dirty, as was the carpet. There was only one towel and facecloth but that was quickly remedied. When the bed was rolled down, the sheets were clean but the duvet was dirty. We asked for a replacement and were told it would be a couple of hours as that was when housekeeping returned. ??? this was six pm.
Here we are sitting in a cramped room waiting and I decided to turn on the TV. I tried the power button on the remote several times and then the one on the TV, no luck. After looking for instructions I went to the front desk as I thought well maybe new batteries in the remote. I was told you had to press the info button and then the power button to make it work, (well why wouldn't you leave instructions in the room). Very frustrated and angry I expressed my displeasure with the room and asked if they had heard of Trip Advisor because I was going to do a review and I promptly left. Not five minutes back in the room I got a call from the desk that they would move us.
We were moved to room 109 a handicap room much larger and only slightly cleaner. There was an unpleasant smell (pet odor?) but we had scented candles in the suitcase and thought they would help. They didn't, what an awful restless night. Other issues: the phone placard says dial 9 for a line out, it was really 8 (if you know, why wouldn't you change it??), poor breakfast even by continental breakfast standards. I will say the desk staff were very professional and I don't fault them. This is simply a dirty old hotel that needs to be cleaned up and remodelled. Until then pull the Quality name.

Room was very nice. Pet friendly with no pet fees which was nice for us, although more grass would be nice! Breakfast was good.

Saturday, August 20, 2011, I had the pleasure of once again staying at the Quality Inn. Unon entering the lobby, I was immediately greeted by Richard who was on duty. It made me felt welcomed to be greeted in such a manner. After letting me know what rooms were available to choose from, Richard had me checked in within just a few minutes. I appreciated that very much becasue I had just driven from Columbia, SC and was ready to just relax for a while. I went into the room and was very impressed and pleased with the cleanliness of the room and nice aroma. Everything was neat and you get the feel of home when you stay there. The microwave and fridge were both clean. What I also like about the Quality Inn is the location. You have a variety of places to dine, there are a number of gas stations nearby and for me who loves to shop, there are plenty, plenty of places to shop. There is a Walmart also nearby and a variety of other places to shop that you can choose from. I will definitely stay at this location again.
