By review of all staff services it is obvious that this Hotel has outstanding management training and leading their staff. A must stay hotel!!!!

On arrival to this property, i was greeted was a warm and friendly welcome. I stay in hotels all over the country and this holiday inn measured up to my standards! I spoke to the Lady who I believe is the GM of the hotel, she gave me great recommendations for a memorable dinning experience. Though things were kinda far from the hotel, i would still return for the service alone! kudos to the staff

Pros: Hotel is right off 26 and is approx. 12 min or so to downtown historical Charleston. We thought it was a great location because we weren't just vacationing in the historical section we were also doing plantation things as well. We had a king suite and it was clean and on the 4th floor (which I think is where they put longer term guests) so it was extremely quiet. The breakfast was okay and they also had wine, pop, beer & snacks in the afternoon which was nice. When you were returning from a trip it was nice to grab a glass of pop & a treat so you weren't starving when it was time to go to dinner.

The room had a couch & chair with two ottomans so you could really get comfortable when you were in your room. The internet was free as well as hotel parking. We did not use the pool but it looked nice. We would definitely stay here again.

Cons: I would imagine that the traffic situation is probably worse during peak times and the intersection where you get onto 26 is pretty congested even with a million lanes. As long as you know that you are good to go.

Advice: This is a good location because there are parking garages in the historical district (and they aren't extremely expensive & much less than what the hotels in that district charge). There is a free bus that has three different routes.

Definitely go to the visitors center on Meeting Street. You can get all kinds of information, nice clean bathrooms and discount on most of the attractions.

This is a lovely hotel; the staff is excellet and really extremely helpful, the rooms are in good shape, and it's fairly quiet. However, it is extremely far from both the airport and the historic district. I somehow ended up booked here instead of the HIE in the historic district and it was beyond inconvenient. Granted, Northwoods Mall and serveral restaurants (Carrabas, Olive Garden, etc) are within walking distance but that's not why I flew to Charleston so it was a bit disappointing, esp considering I did not rent a car. I took a taxi from the airport and that was around a 20 minute drive and a small fortune. The concierge told me of a bus I could take to and from the historic district but due to the neighborhoods it passed through, that was only an option for day light hours. It was also a little time consuming. Inconveniences aside, though, I did enjoy my stay here. It was nice to be able to walk over to the mall or go to dinner and walk right back to my hotel. I was still able to spend a decent amount of time in the historic district, though not as much as I would have liked. If I was ever visiting North Charleston (instead of the historic district), I would definitely stay here again.
