My husband and I were skeptical about staying here because the last reviews that were posted were early 2010, so we didn't know what to expect. We arrived at the hotel right at check-in and were told that we couldn't check in right then because the room wasn't ready, she needed to check to see where the housekeepers were. She left, then returned a few moments later and informed us that the room we requested wasn't available but that she was going to upgrade us to a bigger toom at no extra charge. We were checked in in a timely manner after that..The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hallways and elevators had a smell to them but once we got to our room, we were pleasantly surprised. It was very clean and had no smell to it. The fitness room was right down the hall from us, although we didn't use it. The pool was clean and had grills that you could use to cook on. The side doors stayed locked at all times, and you had to use your room key to get in, which made me feel safe. The front door was locked at 9 p.m. and you had to use your room key to get in. The office closes at 9 pm but there is always someone available, all you have to do is call down.. Housekeeping is done on a weekly basis, so if you want refresh service ( bed made, toiletries, linens, trash taken out, ect. ) you either have to pay $5 per service ot you can change out the linens, ect at the front desk, which we were aware of before we got there, and it didn't bother us because I always take our personal shampoo, soap, ect, with us. The only time I ran into a problem was on our third day there when I went down to the office to exchange our linen and was given everything but wash cloths because they needed to wash some, was told they would call my room when they had some, that was at 5 pm, I waited til 7 pm and still hadn't heard anything so I went down and was told they weren't ready yet, it wound up being the next morning before I got any. That was the one and only time that happened during our 6 day stay so I really can't be too upset... We would definitely stay here again.

Our trip was for both business and pleasure, and we had never stayed at this particular hotel before. We were more than pleasantly surprised, to say the least. The location was wonderful, close to a huge mall, as well as many great dining establishments, other smaller malls, and yet only a few minutes from downtown historic Charleston, as well as the beaches.

The room was more than adequate, with a great panoramic view, nice open layout to the room, and everything was neat, clean and well cared for. The kitchen was well equipped, and it was great to have the full sized fridge and stove, as we actually ended up extending out stay another day, partly because it was so easy to stay there. Everything we needed was right there.

Staff was attentive, friendly, helpful and every one of them pleasant to be around and converse with. While we were not able to partake of the pool, due to rainstorms every time we had time in our schedule to go there, the pool was clean, and we saw many folks enjoying the facilities, and we did stop to listen to some of them playing guitar and singing around poolside.

Since I have rental property there nearby, as well as friends and former coworkers I had to say goodbye to when I moved from Charleston, I will be returning often, and when I do, I hope there is "room for me at the inn", at Studio Plus. They offer a great facitlity, and I hope to return often.

I like the comforts of home in this hotel, There is a kitchenette in the room, you can cook your own breakfast if you want to sleep in. The rooms are very clean, and this is my main concern when i stay at a hotel. There is a convient shopping mall less than a mile away. Best price I have seen on a nice room like this.

This hotel is not particularly friendly to families with younger children. Our one year old was barely speaking loudly and the attendant called our room to tell us to quiet him down. I actually wanted to leave after that. Also, the rooms and halls are fragranced with an odor of wet dogs and pet feces. The pool was not properly chlorined, as it relates to health department guidelines. The pool also seemed as if it was not cleaned of trash and debris in weeks. Transients control and reign over this property; Construction workers, landscapers, contractors, etc. It shows and the fact that this establishment lacks class and dignity in that these transients are allowed to drink beer openly, roam the halls loudly, and complain because of the fact that they have to get up earlier than the tourists in order to go to work. As a result , this establishment will side with them and call your room and ask you to keep the noise down in order to accomodate their beloved transients. I'LL NEVER TAKE MY CHILDREN THERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
