Very Old and rundown hotel. Smelly, dirty rooms and doors to rooms do not close and lock correctly.

well im here on relocation with my company. and because that extended stay america has what they call an apartment relocation program my company said they would pay up to 90 days of relocation since the price was really good. well i originally booked myself at the studio plus and walked in and right back out. so i came over here and have had nothing but trouble since i got here. the first floor is updated somewhat to what they call signature series rooms which is a joke. its all exterior corridor and there are 3 floors with no elevator. of course you dont want any of the rooms on the 2nd or 3rd floor as they havent been remodeled at all. the manager did all she could to make the stay more enjoyable. they put me in a handicapped room originally and it was ok except every thing there was floor level and im 6'4 so i asked to be moved. finally a week later i get moved. the new room is ok but the toilet was broken and it took forever to get someone here to fix it which took all of 5 minutes to repair. but the one thing that is for sure. you wont sleep here at this property. its near the airport and the military bases and they never stop 24/7 and it sounds as if they are going to land in the room with you. very annoying. i prefer extended stay deluxe but they dont have one of those here in charleston area. bottom line is this hotel is old and needs lots of work and add the constant planes overhead every few minutes day and night. i just dont recommend this place. the internet that you pay for here barely works i have made over 20 calls to the tech line and still barely can keep a connection to the internet

Well, the location was about the best thing at this hotel, right next to Tanger outlet mall. Get past the location and it's ... straight downhill. Our room (201) had fleas. We don't have pets, an every morning we awoke eaten alive with bug bites. After informing the front desk clerk, she assured us that the manager would call us asap. We really weren't looking for anything extra, and we weren't complaining, we just wanted to let them know so they could treat the room. After a week the manager called us and offered a free 2 night stay at any of their hotels. After 2 weeks we're still waiting for the coupons. The front desk staff seemed very lazy and uncaring, phone calls to the front desk went unanswered (we only tried twice and gave up, it's not like we were being a nuisance) and the mattress looked like someone had been murdered on it. No pool, no ice, no salad bar, not a single luxury, like Robinson Crusoe it's primitive as can be.....

UPDATE:
after calling the regional manager for Extended Stay we FINALLY got our coupons for 2 free nights, 2 months after our stay. The front desk manager claimed she first sent the coupons to the wrong street number which is highly unlikely since I live in a very small town and the postal carrier knows me well.......

I stayed here for two nights while in town on company buisness. The company chose the place, so I didn't have any say in the matter. The place wasn't as bad as some of the previous reviews, but it wasn't stellar, either. It's definitely NOT a place for the family, but for contractors from out of town, (of which I was one of many), it was good enough. The room was clean, the bed was hard. Security may have been an issue, as there was a security guard stationed outside of the office at night. All the rooms have outside doors, which feels less secure than interior doors. The first night someone called my room at about 2:45 AM looking for someone who wasn't me, then he came knocking a few minutes later. The second night it sounded like someone was fighting downstairs. If I have to go back to North Charleston, I'm going to ask for different lodging!
