My wife and I had the displeasure of staying at this run down facility 6 miles north of Charleston, SC in June 2003. We were forced to stay here because all the hotels and motels in the area were full. The place is literally a dump in need of many repairs. The rooms are filthy and the bathrooms still have the same fixtures that George Washington used. The maids consisted of the owners daughter and wife. They were overworked and could not provide adequate cleaning. The carpets and tile were soiled and stained. Each room has a sliding glass window, which cannot be locked or secured unless you place a stick of wood in the track of the window frame. The motel manager refused to provide the necessary piece of wood needed to secure the window, so I drove to Lowes hardware and purchased a 1"x2"x36" piece of oak and had it cut down to fit the track of the window. The tub and sink in several units were stopped up, so we had to change rooms. We changed rooms three times before we found a room that was suitable. The motel advertised a free breakfast, which consisted of stale donuts, stale hot coffee, and hot juice. The container that the donuts were purchased in was left on the counter top by mistake. The packaging indicated that the donuts were purchased at the local Sam's Club Warehouse one week earlier. Each morning that I approached the front desk to complain to the manager, several other guest were already there for the same reason. Do yourself a favor and never stay at this motel. If you do, you will need a strong stick to secure the window, a giant bottle of Draino and at least three cans of Lysol spray.
