Stayed recently for two nights with friends.
First impressions were good - easy parking, funky lobby area, friendly guy on reception.
Again first impression of the room were favourable - really liked the way it was decorated with darker walls ,a few splashes of bright colour.and modern style furniture.
I had no problem with minimal hanging space as I was only staying for a couple of nights.
I prefer duvets on beds so that was a plus and I also enjoyed the design of the entryway to incorporate the microwave, coffee maker etc to keep the room free of clutter .
I also especially liked the frosted glass panel between shower and room as it let in extra light to the shower but then I did have the room to myself so appreciate that may not be the case for others.
Speedy and complimentary wifi was appreciated as were the iPod docking station and big flat screen TV situated on the wall directly opposite the bed..
Occasional sounds of overhead planes but then what do you expect if you stay at an airport - I certainly was not bothered by it.
Convenient for getting into and out of town.
Really good price.
Not so great:
No kettle ( sorry but us Brits just can't cope with trying to make tea using a coffee maker ) , little provision in rooms of hot refreshments, ie only two pots of creamer and one black tea bag.
Stayed for a saturday and Sunday night and sadly the Sat night suffered from something other reviewers have mentioned - large group of extremely noisy teenagers - these did bother me but I got off lightly Friends I stayed with were in the room next door to some of the group and had to complain after there was constant shouting and banging on the wall late at night. Can understand with its style the ALoft is aimed at younger guests but I wasn't really expecting them to be so young and so noisy. I could hear them three rooms away and they were far worse than any airplane. Okay, a hotel will take its money where it can find it but this
clearly isn't an isolated occurence.
Lastly - and the real downer for me, the bed was very uncomfortable. Looked great, large size but managed to feel both rock solid and lumpy. Afraid it wasn't at all conducive to a restful night's sleep.
So, would I stay here again ?
Def not on a Friday or Sat in order to avoid weekend groups.
Any other time - well even at the price we paid probably not as the bed was just too uncomfortable for me.
A shame to say that as I thought I'd really like it here but the one thing I def want from a hotel is a comfy bed and this didn't deliver.
