“Will never stay here again, I would rather pay more!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

My fiance' and I wanted a quick, inexpensive get away... Well, I would have rather paid more if this is what I was getting...

The room smelled really bad.
The room had a damp feeling to it. Not very comforting!
The bathroom floor was very dirty.
At one point, both elevators were inoperable.
I selected to have a refrigerator in the room, but online it did not say it would cost more. When I arrived at the hotel I was told I would have to pay more PER night.
The pool-it was a cloudy green/white where you couldn't even see to the bottom.
The hot tub was filthy.
The halls were very dark and gloomy.
The side entry door was broken and I was able to walk right in, without my key, and up to my room each time. That did not feel very safe.

“Did not meet standards”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2011 via mobile

Rooms had mildew smell. The carpet was nasty to the point I thought I needed a hazmat suit. They need to do some major repairs if they want to continue to get guest to come. The clerk at the desk was the best. She needs t
o be the manager.

“Ughhhh.....”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2011

My husband & I arrived at the hotel, we thought, "Not too bad from the outside." Then after leaving the lobby..it turned into another story. The halls were dark & smelled like winos had been laying around urinating on the carpets. The room smelled of a strong artificial "pine" scent and dog feces.(Pet friendly 'mind you..) When we turned back the bed spread, It was very apparent an adult had stayed here and well...the blanket was stained. We left even without a refund from the management.

“First & Last Time @ this Days Inn”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

Stayed the weekend while dropping our daughter off at Coastal Carolina University. The outside apperance of the hotel is very deceiving. Room was very damp feeling, musky and carpet was nasty. You wouldn't want to walk bare footed. We all kept flip flops on. When we returned back to our room there were no towels and we had to go to the front desk and ask for some. The lady at the front desk was a bit more receiving than the gentleman that checked us in. He seemed to have better things to do than to assist us with our concerns. We choose Days Inn because of their reputation and their affordability, but this particular hotel did not fit the bill.

“Roach Hotel, Do Not Stay Here!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

My husband and I reserved this hotel with intentions on having an affordable, average hotel to stay in while we took our son to the nearby college (Coastal Carolina) for Orientation. We have stayed at the Days Inn brand hotels before and they seemed to be fine, but not this one!
Upon checking into the hotel, a foreigner, possibly indian or arab was behind the counter to check us in. The hotel appeared to be dirty, especially the walls and carpet. It's is nothing like the pictures showed on website.
The hotel room had very poor lighting and was dark. It was not very clean in the bathroom and the air vents were covered with black dust.
Day 1, we unloaded our luggage and left to go the the college and spent the whole day out. Upon arriving back to our room after dinner, my husband saw a roach on the wall and killed it. We were so exhausted from the drive and the long day out, that we just went to bed.
Day 2, we got up early and left for another full day at the school. Once again, after dinner we returned to our hotel room to relax and watch tv and to get some rest before our long drive back home the next day. Again, my husband spotted another cockroach on the wall. He got up off of the bed to kill the bug and spotted another one, and then another one, and another one. And at this point, we realized that our room was totally infested with cockroaches. They were in our shoes, luggage and everywhere. We then decided, that there was no way that we could sleep soundly knowing the bugs were crawling all over the place, so we decided to check out early at 10:30 p.m.
We took 2 of the cockroaches to the front desk, and asked for a refund, which was refused to us by the front desk clerk because we had reserved the room through hotels.com and not from them personally, therefore they could not refund our money.
We checked out anyways and went next door to the BP Gas Station to get a cup of coffee for our long ride home and there were 3 other men that my husband knew were staying at the hotel also. He then informed them of the cockroaches and we got our coffee and the 3 men left to go check their room for bugs. We then drove 10 hours back to our home in florida after having no sleep, since we didn't get our hotel money back and couldn't afford another hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to ANYONE. (Also there was a strip club on the other side of the hotel, so what's that tell you).
