“Nice place for the price”

Property is old and could use a little better maintance, but clean comfortable room.Right on the beach! We had never been to this beach before and was the first place we stayed. only 1 night due to the place being full the following day. My wife left her Jewelry in the night stand, we realized the next day she had left it there. I want everyone to know she called and we were able to pick up the jewelry before we left town. For that alone I have to say "These people are OK!!!"

Stayed here 4 nights when i walked in the office it smelled of smoke got in the room nice size room. A/c unit was at the back of the room. The room never got cold the whole time i was there. There biggest problem is parking . Found out there are people leaving there so they take up the space. Thanks for the room but never aging

“Great area and place for the Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2011

My family and I stayed here for the first time on July 13 thru 18, Most of the big hotels were booked and we needed a place with two rooms. Cherry Tree was the only one and we booked and and figured with the price things wouldn't be great. To our SURPRISE the place made my wife and I remember the days of when we were kids. They don't have the big pools or extras but this a a very clean place and quiet. Rooms are dated but again clean, If you are expecting it to be like the big hotels you will be disappointed but we were very happy. The pool was great, The Hot Tub was the best and the walk to the beach was short. Loved that the Hotel was on the beach and close to everything but away from the hustle and bustle of the Strip. I will say the cleaning people could have been a little more polite, But overall not a bad place for a family on a budget and as long as they keep it this way we will return. The big Chain hotels lost a customer in me when we go to Myrtle Beach, CHERRY TREE is still what Myrtle Beach was brought up on. RECOMMEND THEM TO EVERYONE

Room Tip: Dated Rooms but remember your not staying in the $200 a night hotels for one bed

“Yuck, Yuck and Yuck...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2011

Upon check -in, I was greeted with cigarette smoke and I had to give a $10 deposit for the TV remote and keys... really who wants to keep the nasty TV remote that I had to clean because it had "sticky" residue on it. I had booked a "Non" smoking room and upon entering found that we were given a smoking room. Not so great when you have asthma. Made a complaint, but nothing was ever resolved. Room was dirty, very musty smelling went through a bottle of febreeze in 5 days. Black mold was growing on the ceiling tiles in the bathroom. Very dingy and dirty... had to ask for my deposit back when I checked out. Just very disgusting all around... Not worth the YUCK!

Room Tip: Do not stay at this hotel... unless you want to feel dirty while you are staying there.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights. It has a great location, right on the beach. The hotel is old and needs updating, but it is clean and no bugs. We would definately stay there again.
