“Great stay!”

My friends and I always look forward to staying on the beach during the off-season, when traffic and people are at a minimum. So last winter we chose to spend our time in the Carolina Winds penthouse. The check-in time was so expedient; I virtually walked in/ walked out. The older gentlemen at the desk was very friendly, courteous and efficient. The layout of the parking area/ room access was among the friendliest... I've stayed there in the past but had forgotten how nice and roomy the penthouse really was. Upon walking in we immediately noticed how clean everything looked, the kitchen (dishes, fridge & utilities) and rooms ready for our undertaking. The bedrooms were VERY comfortable and the layout is amazing; so much room packed in that place. We had a ball. You can hear no ambient noises up there, just the ocean breezes and waves once the patio doors are open... After cleaning up after ourselves we checked out with no problem and grabbed breakfast at our favorite restaurant, Hot Stacks! Can't wait to do it all over again this winter!!!

Room Tip: Please make sure to tip the housekeepers. They do a fantastic job!

“Carolina Winds is losing its touch.. Maybe consider another place?”

Our family has always wanted to stay at Carolina winds since we started going to myrtle beach. We have always had good service, and the kids had a great time. We usually stay for new years and a week during the summer. THis year we went for 5 nights for new years. We usually check into a 3 bedroom unit for the winter visits. We have always had nice rooms in the past (1203, 503,) and requested the rooms when we made the reservation in October. they were not available so we were given unit 603. This room was a dump. 2 of the 4 sliding doors would not work, all doors were dirty, room furniture was old, and beds were hard as a rock. We immediately went to front desk, and they showed another room, 401. This room was paneling, and had small TV's that could have been computer monitors. So, we decided to stay where we were. The 2nd morning we had another bad experience, and decided to leave, or switch to another room. My back could not take the hard mattress, and our son had found something on his mattress. Management came up and immediately switched us to a very nice room that had been recently remodeled,(701) They also discounted our bill for the things found wrong with the other room.(all the rooms are privately owned).
Then i call back 2 weeks later to reserve rooms for a wedding. I want to get 3 very nice rooms, so I just called to the manager that had been working the weekend we were there. He told me no discounts, because the week I wanted to book there was an event going on down there, and they only had 2 3 br's left for that weekend, and one was on the first floor. I decided to call back later that night to book, but then the man that answered told me two different set of rooms that was available, and could not guarantee a certain room. What? I have been staying here for 6-7 years and now you decide you can't guarantee a room?
We have now booked at another hotel that was recommended by one of our friends, they actually gave me a better rate because I was booking 3 rooms. I just can't believe when you spend that much money with a hotel, they do not want to take care of it's repeat customers.

Room Tip: In the 3 bedrooms, 1203, 503 (deluxe)and 701 (north)are awesome rooms.

“Great Stay!”

My wife and I wanted a short getaway in October and the reasonable rates at Carolina Winds were enticing. We were very happy with our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Check in was quick and our room was easy to get to from the lobby and elevators. The outdoor pool is fantastic. The furniture in our room was old, but comfortable. The beds were very firm. The modern flat screen tv was nice. We love the location of this hotel, it is in a nice neighborhood. We will stay here again.

“Very Comfortable”

This is our favorite place to stay in Myrtle Beach for over three decades. The amenities for the money make this a great value. The outdoor hot tub is one of the best we've experienced anywhere. The indoor heated pool is warm without being too warm. As we despise "heated pools" that are NOT heated to a nice warm temperature, we can state unequivocally that Carolina Winds indoor pool is just about perfect.
There are other pools, a lazy river, and hot tubs, subject to the season.
The area around Carolina Winds is resort-like with residential homes laced with hotels.
It is accessible to grocery stores, theaters, and most stores you are used to at home.
Parking is convenient and free. The beach area is attractive. We are very comfortable here. It is peaceful and relaxing during off season.

My family and I have been staying at Carolina Winds for about 7 years. It is a great place with ocean front rooms, nice swimming pools, and staff. The location is near good restaurants, Alabama Theater, and lots of shopping. I hope to someday be able to own my own unit there so that I can visit anytime I would like!
