We made RSVP's at the Whited Inn because of the great reviews that we had read on the Tripadvisor. This is the thing: I just don't get it! This place was a dump! The room was tiny, the bathroom had mold on the ceiling, the fixtures were all so old and worn out, and the window was kept locked by a piece of wood! We never even got fresh towels the entire weekend we were there -- which may I add -- the towels were paper thin and small too! The TV had no remote, nor was there an alarm clock in the room. We even asked the owner, Edna, if we could get a late check out as we saw the hotel looked pretty vacant on the day of our check-out. She replied, "I have people coming in for your room today, so I cannot. However, can I interest you in staying another night?" We told her that was OK (all we wanted was one hour), but we would be out by checkout, which is 11:00 a.m. Needless to say at check-out, she was not at all friendly. I understand this "Ma & Pa" hotel is up for sale, but if you are losing money, that is no reason to be rude to your guests! And....don't lie to the people (us) calling to inquire about your hotel, and inform them this hotel was just "newly renovated". I have photos to prove otherwise!

Now to be fair, this room did have a tiny microwave, refrigerator and a ceiling fan. The hotel had a small pool, and it allows guests to bring their dogs for an extra $10.00 a night.

My advice, unless you are DESPARATE to find a place that allows you to bring your dog, there are much better places on the beach (or in this case, across from the beach).

Mr. and Mrs. Whited did it again. I have a very large family that I travel with and they made us to feel at home again. Our trip started off with a flat tire. We arrived at 5:30am and as usual check in time is 3:00pm. I hit something on Ocean Blvd and hear my tire going flat. I made it to Whited Inn and we just hung out because the office wasn't opened yet. I just laid out on the sofa furniture supplied by the hotel and when Mrs. Whited opened and seen me there and found out what I was doing there she told me that I should have woken them up and got in my room early. She had one of my rooms vacant and let us go on in and use the bathroom and unload. Boy what a relief, my mother is disabled and sitting in the car for long lengths of time is very hard on her. Thanks to Mrs. Whited this was not necessary. We got the tire repaired and had no more trouble on our vacation. If you are wanting a GREAT place to stay look no further. This is it. We are sad about one thing and that is that this place will not be here next year due to some new construction going on in Myrtle Beach. We are sorry to see you all leaving. Please help to end there year with extra bookings, show Mrytle Beach we love the places that make you feel at home you won't find this kind of service in the more fancy snooty facilities.

The Whited Inn truly became our "home away from home" during our winter vacation in Myrtle Beach. Our suite was newly decorated and furnished and provided us with every comfort we wanted. Since I have Celiac Disease, which demands an extremely restricted diet, having our own kitchen facilities was a must. Having a dishwasher was a real plus. Our hosts, Edna and Ray Whited, became friends during our stay and we keep in touch. Edna is an expert on shells and bone fragments found beachcombing and she spent hours showing me documentation of my treasures as well as her own extensive collection. We felt like we were living in our own place, surrounded by friends. We would strongly recommend anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable, affordable place, to check out the Whited Inn.

The Whited Inn was a very nice place to get away to. Ray & Edna Whited (owners) Are very nice people. they created a family oriented place. Rooms are clean and relaxing. This was our second year with the Whited Inn. And we've enjoyed every year there. If you're looking for a family oriented place. This is it!!! My hat is off the the Whiteds for the tremendous job and hard work they put in to make staying there a comfort. Hopefully they will continue to bring satisfaction to the vistors to Myrtle beach.
