We stayed at Forest Dunes the last 3 years and have stayed in 2 different units. 1105 was where we were the first year we came and the ocean view from the balcony was breathtaking. The condo itself was very nice and the furniture and decor were gorgeous. We requested it the second year but were unable to get it and were put in room 510 which is an oceanfront unit. Wow, had they done a lot!! Unit 510 is really updated and has all the amenities and comforts of home including a big HD flatscreen and a King size bed in the Master Bedroom.
All leather furniture including a rocker recliner were soooo nice!
We were able to stay in 510 again this year and are so happy with the vacation we had!!
We are very happy with our stay at Forest Dunes year after year.
We enjoy the lazy river and indoor/outdoor pools and the hot tub is extremely relaxing.
The resort is clean and the staff are very friendly.
Right on the beach with a small service road between the resort and the beach, just far away enough from the downtown core that you avoid all the noise and craziness but close enough that if that's what you want, it's right down the beach.

We'll be back next year!!! Looking forward to 2012.

We have stayed at Forest Dunes for at least 7 trips down to South Carolina and i must say it is a great place to stay,we had room 1109 again and it was just great ,the view and the panoramic view from up there is just awesome .We will be coming back again in 2012 God willling,and i couldnt think of any other place i would want to stay other then Forest Dunes,.and you can take that to the bank.

Room 1701. Great value, big sq'footage, loads of room, fantastic view and great balcony. Outside there was a lazy river & outdoor pool that seemed to be heated but indoor pool a bit cool (could be heated!!). Whirlpool nice & 103 degrees and pools cleaned every morning. Across a small street from the beach easy access to beach, no troubles getting there and there are showers/hoses to clean everything off before you come back to resort. The lobby was clean & nice but our unit was well used.........it needs a facelift very badly!! I woudn't wear barefeet or socks on carpets, only slippers constantly....the carpet was very stained. The cabinets in bathrooms/kitchen falling apart!!! Closet doors falling apart, dryer does not dry! All walls needed painted, baseboards were falling apart too. All of it needed to be replaced & renovated. Although the appliances were newer & clean, the housekeepers were friendly and helpful. the place seemed clean though, just very very used! Dissappointed there was no recycling at the resort!!!!!!! So we had 3 bedroms and 3 baths, the master had a walk-in closet that we used as a nursery (fantastic!!) and then a queen bedroom and two twins in a bedroom. Couldn't ask for more space.

I reserved a deluxe one bedroom oceanfront suite the third week of August. Talk about disappointing......first - the motel is not on the ocean side of the street - luckily my room was up high enough where I could have a nice view from the balcony. The first day we went out for the day - had the A/C on 72 - came back to our room and the temperature was 89. I was told that it was because of the vertical blinds in the living which weren't helping with the heat from the sun. Luckily the room had a box fan for our use - so if you enjoy listening to a fan all day and nite and keeping the blinds shut on your panoramic view - this wouldn't bother you. Also - went to take a shower and the shower curtain and tub were disgusting - mildew all over the shower curtain and dirt stains in the tub. Oh yeah - went to the grocery store to buy food - came back - nowhere to put anything in the cabinets because they were full of the owner's stuff. Mentioned to the lady when I checked out about how disappointed I was with the room being so hot and not on the ocean - don't think she really cared. They only have two elevators to serve people in over 180 rooms - very slow - so don't be in a hurry. WILL NEVER STAY HERE OR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.
