“Go Somewhere else”

Im currently staying at the Caravelle for the winter. This HOTEL is a pos. The icemakers leak a good 50 feet down the hallway and smell moldy. The rooms have been remodeled but from a builders eye no more then $1-3k a room. Just cause u hear remodeled and granite doesnt mean anything considering granite bought in bulk is less then $8sq. ft. The building is very loud, you can hear people talking a good way down the hall from your room and everytime a car pulls up the parking garage. No trash service so u have to load up the trash by the garbage can on the parking garage floor. Paint and caulk can only cover up so much. The only good part of the resort is the areas pretty nice and not to far down Ocean Blvd. If you are going to rent at the caravelle go threw the front desk not a agency. You don't get access to alot if u rent from a management comp. and if something goes wrong wow look forward to some scummy people helping out. Painters knocked on my door at 8 30 am to paint the door. When i didnt answer they started to open the door with keys they had. After a confrontation i immd. called the desk to later find out nothing had been mentioned to any management. Long story short if you want a $30 room stay here but trust me do the research you can neg. rates at alot of the resorts and for alittle more money you can go from a 1star to a 5star resort. Anyone who stayed here that honestly writes a good review, wow this place is a POS.

We are sorry that you did not have an enjoyable stay here at the Caravelle. Even though, as you said, you did not plan your winter stay through our rental office, we want everyone here to have a wonderful time and will do all within the parameters that we can do to assure this. However, we are extremely limited as to what we can do when you use an outside agency, having no records, communications or agreement with these agency or independent owners who rent outside our rental offices. We thank you for your recommendation of using our office for your rental. We have professionals working for us and home owner representatives who have decades of experience in giving our guests the best customer service in all areas, with the least interruption to their stay, as you can see from the many 4 and 5 star reviews on this Trip Advisor site.

We thank you for your review and invite you to call our office here to book your next stay with us so that we can make sure you get the very best the Caravelle has to offer.

“Excellent stay at the Caravelle Resort in Myrtle Beach!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

We took advantage of a long weekend and our search online got us a $46/night rate at the Caravelle. It is in the northern part of Myrtle Beach which is fine in January (not too much going on in "downtown" Myrtle Beach anyway). Our main priorities were ocean front and a hot tub. This place was great!! Three different hot tubs to choose from (two are outdoors) and great indoor, heated pool. The rooms are modern looking; not your usual "beachy" interior decoration, and ours came with a full kitchen even though all we used it for was making coffee and English muffins. One small problem was the light switch for the kitchen...it was a on the wall up beside the refrigerator and we had to move the refrigerator a little to turn it on. Bad planning but manageable. One big problem was an unexpected 7am wake-up call by the elevator service guys. The elevator was right across from our room and, even though we had asked before we booked about renovations during our stay, they gave us the room closest to the elevator that was being upgraded. Staff at the front desk were very apologetic but put the blame on a rouge maintenance company that they could not control (and had already had complaints about). Sounds like a hotel/condo management issue affecting paying customers. Luckily, it was the last morning of our stay and we had to get up anyway. The breakfast buffet in the hotel restaurant was great and a very good value.

Room Tip: Oceanfront rooms have a wall of windows--great for watching the sunrise (but they have good black-ou...

“We love the beautiful Caravelle!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012 via mobile

My husband & I stayed here about three times now and we are making it our perm vacation spot in Myrtle Beach. The rooms are very reasonable. The jaccuzzi suite was beautiful, we stayed there after my husband returned from Afghanistan. I would def recommend it for a romantic getaway with your spouse or bf/gf. The staff is great and really kind and helpful. It's a very short distance to the strip and to Broadway. You will not be disappointed!! Can't wait to book for this summer!!!

“Great location and property.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

My husband and I have stayed at The Caravelle several times over the past few years. Rooms are nice, beds are comfortable, location is very convenient, quiet area, pools are great. The staff is very friendly and personable. Room rates in the off season are quite reasonable and it made for a fun get away with our grandchildren.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 14th floor so that we would have a great view from our living room window of the oc...
