“a nice trip”

We really enjoyed our stay at the Links. It is not directly in Myrtle Beach nor is it directly on the beach. We were are of these things before hand, but some people didn't know that. If you didn't know that the resort was there, you would never guess that it was. It is tucked back in the "woods" and it is very quiet. We were there the week of the 15th and it was surprising that there were no lifeguards on duty at the beach. Resort seemed to be well kept and was clean upon our arrival. One area that was frustrating is the way their resort map doesn't match with the way their buildings are labeled. Example-they said you are in unit 62. Well we are driving all over the place because the map they give you to find your place isn't necessarily accurate. The buildings all have letters on the side of them which is helpful, except the letters aren't used on the map! Two of the people that worked at the front desk were definitely not helpful--couldn't even recommend a place to go and eat!-but other then they it was great. Fitness room is also small and not very updated. Talked to many people throughout the week that have been going there for years and they absolutely raved about it! No real timeshare pitch either :)

“Perfect for Family”

Spent week between Christmas and New Years at resort. Play a lot of free Ping-pong and $0.75 pool, used the exercise room, and thought the pool looked good but never used. The unit we had was very clean, large and nice - a highlight. Staff was very nice.

A few quibbles - they have dvd's you can rent for $6 which seems high for the limited machine selection.

“Family Resort caters to kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 April 2009

This is an excellent place for families with teenagers or young children. The townhomes are very spacious including two bedrooms, three full baths (jacuzzi tub), en suite washer and dryer, and full kitchen, balcony. The recreation area includes two full size pools, indoor and out, tennis courts, whirlpool, club house, and activity director. There is also a two-story cabana at the beach to shower and bring a picnic lunch but you have to drive and there is limited parking. The shuttle service was not available when we were there.

The down side is the pool and tennis court hours are open from 6 am to midnight. We had a townhome directly across from the pool and found the late hours annoying. I even had to call the desk on one evening. Most resorts close the pool and courts by 10 pm. Why this resort allows a few (and you know by that time the adults have been drinking) to interrupt the many is a puzzlement.

But the positive is a very good staff indeed, very attentive to your needs, and a nice welcoming breakfast and orientation on Monday.

High speed internet is available at the club house but not in the rooms, a negative for those of us who travel with lap-tops.

“A pleasent week”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 April 2009

Location was fairly hard to find. The turn off of kings highway is not lit at night, and if you blink you will miss the street sign. There is no sign for the hotel, and nothing right around it to make it seem like the entrance to anything other than a neighborhood (which it is buried in). The shower in the master room was not the cleanest shower ever, and there were a few spots in the ceiling that looked like they had previously leaked. In their defense, they were renovating the unit across the way from ours, so maybe they hadn't gotten to ours yet. Other than those couple of things it was very nice. The front desk was happy to provide things for us when we asked (hair dryer, extra laundry and dish detergent, etc). The amenities are nice, gym, pool, steam room/sauna. It was close to the beach and lots of restaurants. The cabana seemed nice, although we did not use it too much since it was fairly chilly still. It was very close to the beach, and a nice place to park. The decor could have used an update. I need a fan to sleep and the ceiling fan made a horrible whirring noise that would give you a headache, so I had to also have the adjoined bathroom fan on to make white noise in order to sleep.

“A Little Piece of Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 February 2009

Best Things About This Resort ~ Nice surroundings, quiet and perfect for a peaceful getaway but yet be close to everything.

Best attractions and/or Nearby Attractions ~ Close to the beach, fishing piers, shopping, restaurants, golf courses, mini golf, entertainment, etc.

Review ~ My husband and I loved the Links and we can't wait to go back! Our unit was recently remodeled and everything was tastefully done. Furniture was very comfortable and the decor was great.

The layout of our unit was wonderful. Upstairs had two bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a full washer/dryer in the hallway. The master bedroom had a king size bed, walk-in closet, full bathroom with a large walk-in shower stall, vaniety area, TV with DVD player and access to the balcony. The second bedroom had two twin beds, TV, nice size closet and a full bathroom. Not sure if there was a DVD player in the second bedroom. Downstairs consisted of a living room with a wood fireplace, TV with DVD player, dining area, full kitchen, full bathroom with a jacuzzi, coat closet and two sliding doors leading out to the patio. Our view from our patio/balcony was a pond with a fountain which was really nice. Very cozy and plenty of space.

The timeshare property is really nice and you can tell they have been working on it for a while. The kids play area is really cute. There is an outdoor pool, indoor pool, hot tub, tennis courts and an exercise room. We walked around the property one day and everything was well maintained. There were barbecue's throughout the property as well.
The location of this timeshare is excellent. You are close to everything but yet nestled in the trees and pretty surroundings. We prefer a relaxing atmosphere and this was it. Sitting outside, reading and listening to the birds and fountain was great.

Our week stay was very enjoyable and we were able to tour a lot of the areas nearby. Everything was convenient to the timeshare (grocery, restaurants, liquor store, plenty of shopping, Wal-Mart, etc.). If you needed it you can find it. Traveling off season was very pleasant and I can see this place bustling during peak season.

The Links has a beach house which is approximately a mile from the timeshare. During peak season they have a shuttle if you prefer not to drive. The beach house is basic but nice. Each floor has a full bathroom with shower, picnic table if you want to eat lunch there and lockers (bring your own lock). The first floor has a full refrigerator. Parking is available and the lot may hold ten cars depending on the size of your vehicle. It's across the street from the beach. The beach is very pretty and in a nice location.

There wasn't may activities going on during our stay since it was off season. Due to so many things in the area you really don't need a heavy activity schedule.

Overall we had a great time, loved the area and truly enjoyed our timeshare.

The staff at the resort were extremely friendly and helpful. Looking forward to going back!
