We were moved from an oceanfront (due to overbooking) from at the adjoining Hilton Beach Resort hotel to an oceanview room at the Royale Palms during our stay over New Year's weekend 2011-2012. While the furnishings at the Royale Palms were upgraded (somewhat - the t.v was not a flatscreen), the oceanview was not as spectacular as the oceanfront room we had the previous night. The balcony was larger at Royale Palms and the room appeared to be recently renovated. The grounds/property are unmatched. There are several swimming pools and direct access to the beautiful, largely private beach.
Two disappointments: No adult-only pools (this appears to be a very family-friendly property), and it is not a pet-friendly property. I would also highly recommend the oceanfront rooms - they have private balconies and spectacular views!
