“Repeat customers for 15 years!!!”

We won't go anywhere else! This is a family hotel with friendly staff, clean, convienient and priced right. It's not a glamour motel and it doesn't 700+ rooms. The beach is not as crowded, the pool is ocean front, both pools & both hot tubs are VERY clean. Yeah you may have to wait on the elevators, and ride it with the laundry cart but this is one of the places where you meet the other tenants and friendships start. We have met so many nice people and look forward to seeing them each year. Yes you heard me right, most customers are repeat customers that go the same time each year to meet up with friends they have made over the years. They have plenty of lounge chairs, along with charcoal grill & picnic tables ocean front. There are so many good things about the Sea Horn that the bells & whistles of staying at a Resort don't even compare to what matters more. My family recommends the Sea Horn and look forward to visiting again this summer.

“Great value, ocean front.”

This place is a bit dated, but you can't beat it for the price. The rooms are clean and the view from the balcony can't be beat. There are a few things that could use updating, specifically the beds and bedding. It's clean, but a bit "beat". The staff is awesome and you can park right by the beach, keeping your umbrella and beach goodies handy in the car rather than lugging them up the elevator. My biggest complaint is the smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway that may have a tendency to seep into the room if your balcony door is open and the wind is right.

Room Tip: Go in Spring; good weather, good price.

I did not actually get to stay here but I called 3 different times and was given 3 different prices all within a 2 day period and when I tried to book the room on the second quote she said they did not accept reservations that late-- it was 3 days before I was going to be going. When I called the third time to make sure they still had rooms the rooms had gone up from 90.00 to 102.00 when I asked why?? She stated that it was Easter weekend now keep in mind when I called all 3 times I was asking for EASTER weekend!! Called Bermuda Sands much better receptionist and was willing to take my money on the same day of arrival!!!

My family and I are used to "Mom and Pop" type older motels and love the personal feel that they offer. We were hoping to find an ocean front motel that fit the bill, but the Sea Horn let us down. First the good stuff. The motel is in a great location for families. It's ocean front at the southern end of the Grand Strand. There are great views from the 5th floor balcony. Parking here is ample. They have a decent sized pool and a wonderful indoor pool. The room seemed clean and the beds were fresh with clean bedspreads. We didn't care that things looked older. Now the not so good stuff. The door had only one lock which could be unlocked from the outside. The knob did not lock. There was a chain, if you call that a lock. They didn't have any little bottles of shampoo in the rooms or in the office. (We forgot ours and they didn't have any little extras for their guests.) They do not have Wi-Fi. Nowadays, how hard would it be to have a wireless router, at least in the lobby? The maid did not service our room on the first full day we were there. This was not acceptable. I called down to the office to check if they had maid service and was told that we had not been put on the "maid's list". However, they were very apologetic and brought plenty of towels and changed our trash. Most of the time when we rode the elevator during the day, we had to share it with the maids dirty laundry cart. There is only one elevator and having to share it with a lot of people and the cart got a little tough. The rooms did not have blankets for the beds. The mattresses were not that comfortable. This all may sound petty, but we were first time customers hoping to be impressed and "wooed" into coming back. We weren't. I guess we will stay at our "Mom and Pop" motel across the street who at least has weak Wi-Fi, double door locks, comfortable beds, blankets, and reliable maid service. Oh and I almost forgot to mention that the roll of toilet paper we got from the office (when the maid didn't visit....) reaked cigarette smoke. (No Kleenex in the room.) Just a few little extras here and there and a little more attention to detail and this place could be great.

Room Tip: One elevator, beware of lots of stops!

“Like part of the Family”

My family and I have stayed at the Sea Horn for 17 years. No, its not a luxury hotel with all the glamour. But, what it is...1. American owned, passed down to two wonderful daughters and their husbands. 2. Friendly 3. Convenient, 4. No parties or motorcycle gangs, 5. Family oriented, 6. Great value 7. Safe, etc etc etc. There's only one elevator and its smells most of the time, the TV's are old, the carpets are dirty, and there's no internet service. But, if you are on vacation to watch TV, surf the net, or roll around on the floor, then this is not the place for you. But, if you want to be treated with respect and not spend a fortune and have a great vaction, check out the Sea Horn!
