My husband and I stayed at this Marriott during a business trip. I was eagerly anticipating some peace and quiet on the balcony while doing some reading. Unfortunately, the music in the lounge area outside (being played by the hotel) was SO very loud that it was impossible to hear the calming sound of the ocean waves. The music began around 10 a.m. and played ALL DAY LONG. Even with my balcony door closed, I could hear the music. Kinda ruined the stay for me. Next day, music again, but not as loud. Still, I felt it disturbed the sound I really wanted to hear---the BEACH.
With all that said, the views from the ocean front rooms were gorgeous. The staff was excellent, friendly, and helpful. Rooms were clean and tidy, but did show some signs of age.
There are many places to relax outside, including lounge chairs, hammocks, etc. BEAUTIFUL pools.
I felt the price was a bit much for this hotel. Would like to see some updating in the rooms. Not quite what we are used to when we stay in a Marriott property.

I go every year and ask myself If I want to go for 2 weeks or 3, or just move here altogether. It just doesn't get any better. The villas are right on the water, you take an elevator down from your 2 room villa and then walk out onto the sand. No car, no bother, no parking. With full kitchens, you can cook, or just reheat and never have to leave. I've been here for a week with no car and never got board. The beach just doesn't get better than this.

The resort is lovely, but this was our third consecutive year vacationing there and we noticed the service is not as good as in previous years. The rooms and beach are outstanding and the front desk staff as professional as it gets, but that's where it ended. The pool was a little dirty for this level Marriott, and the pool bartender was downright rude when we told her one of the four $9.00 drinks we ordered was tasteless. Also, we wasted 45 minutes for pool snacks while the staff celebrated and left us and several other guests standing around waiting. It's little service things that make a difference at a high end resort like this.
The bikers were in town and the roads were a nightmare, so check the calendar for theme weeks unless you are looking for massive traffic and overcrowded everything. May 18 through 23 was peaceful, then they rollednin and took over the streets especially at dinner and evening.

oceanwatch at grande dunes is our favorite marriott timeshare resort. Lovely property, beautiful ocean views, plenty of lounge chairs by the pool, convenient parking and great two bedroom fully equipped units. Located in an upscale section of myrtle beach - grande dunes.

Karim at the front desk did a great job getting us checked in. We had one minor maintenance issue in our unit and it was attended to promptly.

Overall a wonderful upscale timeshare resort!
