It was a harrowing trip from Charleston as the fuse in the rental car did not work and I did not have the benefit of using a GPS - and the light on the dashboard didn't work. When I finally arrived at the hotel, around 6:15 pm, the valet, Mike, could not have been nicer, more accommodating and more helpful. He tried out the GPS on another car, and it worked, so we realized that the issue was with the car I had rented from Avis. He even suggested a wonderful nearby restaurant! He was cheerful and helpful all through the evening, as I waited for a new rental car that ultimately arrived at 10:45 that night. I can't remember ever having such a positive experience with a valet.
BTW, the front desk staff was also very cheerful and helpful.
