“Memories of Aloha Motel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 April 2008

I spent a week at the Aloha Hotel on 3 different occasions with my family. I was 10, 11, 12 at the time. I am now 50. I have many fond memories of the Aloha, met many great people there, and ususally saw the same people back on the 3 different occasions I went. I was reading the comments and saw they are tearing it down, or already torn it down. I will miss that place. Granted, it was 40 years ago, and I'm sure the place has aged, but I love that old family-oriented atmosphere of Myrtle Beach. It has grown so over the years. Although I still love Myrtle Beach, and it's my beach of choice every summer, I will miss the old Aloha. Many fond memories!

I have had the opportunity to spend every summer at the Aloha Motel. My Aunt Ginny was the one who owned it. I loved going there every summer and I am going to miss it so much. It is such a sad thing that it is all over now, but the memories will always be close to my heart. I have had the opportunity to meet so many people while being there every summer. I will miss it!

“Very run down”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 June 2006

The hotel is very old. I had an efficiency and the air did not work. I then switched to a two double bed room and had problems with the air in that one. The hotel was also very dirty. The only plus was the SnakShak but the wait there was awful. All in all I would not stay here when I visit again.

“My fountain of youth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2005

I've been going to the Aloha for the past 24 years and Im getting ready to spend the weekend there. This will probably be the last time I see the old place because I was informed when making my reservation that it is being torn down to make room for a high-rise called the Aloha Tower.
I hate to see all the "Family Style" motels mowed down by the flashy corporate hotels. There really is a charm that you cannot get at the large hotels. I like that you can park two steps from the door, step out your back door to the pool (no freezing elevator rides soaking wet) or have a cookout with family and friends.
For those of us that like to ride bikes you can bring your own and park it on your patio or ride one of theirs. Try taking your bike up the elevator to your room at one of those fancy hotels or parking your minivan/SUV in the hotel parking deck with a turtle on the roof, it can't be done.
Well at least I have my memories and if you hurry you might have time to make some too.
ALOHA Motel... I love you.

“Almost Heaven”

The Aloha is my home away from home! I have stayed at the Aloha for over 21 years now and there isn't another place I would ever stay. No its not a five star resort but the environment around the rooms and pool is what makes it so wonderful. It is a family owned business that has been around for 35 years. The family is incredible and if you visit during the summer you can plan on meeting them by the pool for music and great food! I would strongly suggest giving it a shot!
