“My reason to come to MB twice a year!”

Love this place, have been here many times and will always come back. I think I wouldn’t even go to Myrtle Beach that often if it wouldn’t be for this hotel. The rooms and suites are nicely furnished and all come with microfridge, the suites even with fully equipped kitchens. Most of the rooms are oceanfront; even the few ones on the side have at least ocean view. All rooms have balconies and other than most ocean hotels they don’t have plastic chairs but 2 wooden rockers and a little table on the balconies. So nice to just sit there, sip your coffee and enjoy the ocean. Because the balconies are kind of built in you have privacy and don’t see much of your neighbors. Since they added the second tower about 3 years ago they have a very nice lobby area with lots of seating and comfy chairs all overlooking the ocean as well. When you enter the place it definitely looks more like a 5 star hotel than a regular Hampton Inn. Lots of (free!) parking space although I admit that the setting can be a bit irritating at the first time. But you get used to it quickly. If you want to be in the newer rooms chose the north tower but I think they have updated the south tower rooms as well so it shouldn't be much of a difference. The north tower has one more elevator but I never had a problem with too much waiting time on either side.

The staff is wonderful and welcoming; you always get a friendly greeting at check inn, when picking up towels for the poolarea, or when meeting one of the very efficient maids on the floors. I recognize many of them from previous visits and I think it’s a good sign if people work in a place for long. Except for the breakfast ladies that is, there I wish for a change really badly…I find the breakfast people the friendliest staff in many other Hamptons but not here. Very often certain foods are running out without being noticed by them. Often they even stand in the way chatting to each other and if you ask if they could refill the bread or the coffee you get strange looks. I think it’s also not too much to expect that they go over the tables a few times during breakfast time and clean them. I leave my table clean and without clutter but unfortunately not everybody does. Other than that breakfast is regular Hampton quality, nothing special but free.

For those who look for dinner options: The new shopping area Market Common is a really short drive away and there you can find something for every taste. I highly recommend Travenia Italian Kitchen and the Gordon Biersch Brewery. Also if you prefer to eat in your suite the Piggly Wiggly at Market Common has a wonderful deli.

“Awesome place to unwind with the family”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

I have to start by saying Corrie Sanchez is awesome. I booked my room with her via the phone and I mentioned my wife being in the military and my wanting to help her unwind from her many stressful days at work.
Without missing a beat, she offered us an outstanding rate on a suite (I had only budgeted for the 1br, 2 qn bed setup) I did not tell my wife or kids about the upgrade, just led them to believe it would be a snug but cool living arrangement. We got to the hotel at 12:30 am Saturday morning...staff was extremely courteous, wide eyed and bushy tailed (unlike myself) We had a packet waiting for us to include coupons and flyers for nearby attractions. We even had a discounted rate on a 1/2 hour massage at the spa.
We stayed in the South tower, on the 12th floor, and the room was both spacious and immaculate. Kids had their own room, son slept on the queen size bed and my daughter slept on either of the bunk beds, whenever the mood beckoned. Almost forgot to mention, we had an ocean view with the master bedroom having sliding glass doors, and the living room both doors and a balcony. We would often wake up to hear the waves lapping the shore which really added to the sense of calm and tranquility, we also so really needed.
Staff was quick to come to our aid when we needed more blankets, or my son clogged the toilet (its the little things) We all got up early to have their breakfast (served from 0600-1000) Two separate breakfast nooks were available for the patrons. You could usually expect to find fresh fruit, oatmeal, eggs, dry cereals, waffle maker. Just about everything you need for a healthy start to a great morning in myrtle. The kids loved the pools, though there are no true indoor pools, most of them are glass encased and hot air is pumped in, so you will be comfortable.
All in all it was a great stay, everyone was rejuvenated and the 2hr ride back to Shaw AFB entailed how awesome the stay was.

Room Tip: North tower may be newer but don't be swayed, the South was remodeled and also offers an ocean f...

“Loved It!”

This was our second time to Myrtle Beach and our first stay at Hampton Inn & Suites Ocean Front. We visited the last week of August and we absolutely loved it.

The staff was extremely pleasant and very friendly.

The facility was immaculate. I'm big on smells and it smelled good everywhere, even the public washrooms!

The pools were great. They were all large enough to have a great swim/play in. I especially loved the covered ones for late afternoon when my Canadian skin had enough sun for the day.

The beach was amazing, lots of wave jumping!

We loved the complimentary breakfast. The food was very good and there was always lots of it. It was a little busy at times but you just had to be patient, your on vacation after all. If you’re in a hurry you can always pick up a pre-packed breakfast at the front desk.

At night, my daughters and I would go down to make hot chocolates; they thought that was great fun. The front desk also has cookies late in the afternoon for the kids!

You can go on the beach at night and watch the fireworks at the pier.

We stayed in a basic room with two double beds. My husband thought it was fine, but I found it a little small for two adults a 9 year old and 11 year old. Next time I would choose the one bedroom suite.

We found a restaurant or two that was walking distance for lunches. Or we would hop in the car and drive 5 – 10 mins to one, not a big deal.

We were booked in Sunday – Sunday, then Hurricane Irene decided to make her way to close for our comfort, so we checked out on the Friday. It was no problem and we were not charged for the nights we had booked in for but did not stay.

I would definitely recommend this resort and hope we have the opportunity to visit again next summer!

“A Great Place to Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

We recently stayed at the Hampton Inn on the Oceanfront in Myrtle Beach and it was a very nice place to stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and had a great view of the ocean. The hotel is very convenient to all the attractions of Myrtle Beach. The breakfast provided wasn't the best I've had, compared to other Hampton Inns, but it was adequate. I would gladly go back to this hotel.

Room Tip: In the summertime, a room on a higher floor will keep you from having to hear all the excitement in...
