This hotel is a bit below average standards for the Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites brand, BUT is still a decent hotel with a good location and is still worth a shot... The rooms are clean, well maintained & need of a little update. (Maybe start with the TV's by putting flat screens in.) It is now a standard for a hotel, even a motel to have a flat screen tv in all of their rooms. Overall breakfest looks average with great service, pool area is a bit small but having stayed at over 7 different Fairfield Inn & suites over the years it is about average size for Fairfield Inn. Also, rooms are roomy, comfy desk chair, fast wireless internet, to thin of walls (In room 325 you can hear the ice machine at the OTHER end of the hall!) But,. they did have tons of parking and alot to see and do all around the hotel.

This hotel has potential to become a great hotel with some improvements and minor upgrades.

This hotel is in bad need of a renovation. We were placed on the 4th floor and the hallway carpet was very degraded. The room was clean, but the furniture was customer beaten, the T.V. was old (not a flat screen T.V.) and the cable/satellitte reception was terrible on a lot of the channels. The worst part of the stay was that the mattress was extremely soft. The only comfortable portion of the mattress was in the middle. Since I was driving the next day, I got the middle portion and my wife suffered with very little sleep.
On the positive side, the hotel is very convenient to the Alabama Theater, the free breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly.

We stayed two different (not consecutive) nights at Fairfield. I left some personal items in the room when I left and called within a few hours to retrieve them and was unable to talk to anyone or get them back for 4 days. During the first visit, the bathroom door was stuck and the sink would not drain. In the second room on the second visit, the sink faucet would not work at night but started working the second day, so we had to brush our teeth, etc. from the tub faucet. The second room also had little sound barriers and I could hear the neighbors urinating as if they were in the same room with me. Management needs to really work on maintenance. On the other hand, the breakfast was very nice as well as the breakfast facility and the rooms were clean enough and the beds comfortable. With more diligence by management, this could be a good place. It has a good location, and the staff was friendly.

The Hotel is pretty beat up. Breakfast was the best thing they had going for it.
Very old feel to it, needs to be remodelled. Pool is indoor, very small and depressing. We had to ask for a different room as the one they gave us smelt terrible.Staff was friendly. We were unhappy with the hotel in general, luckily we only stayed one night. We defenately would not stay there again.
