We just wanted to take a quick, cheap, one day trip to the beach and this hotel was adequate for that. The hotel IS NOT beachfront, its across the street but they tell you that ahead of time, you can see the ocean a little. Previous reviewers are correct, its in need of remodeling. As a heavy Choice Priviledges member/user its not up to par with the rest of the Choice Hotels I frequent. It has an old feel to it, but I wouldnt say its dirty or an awful place to stay. The staff was very nice and gave me some parting gifts when I left. Our room faced the street and I couldnt hear any traffic but it was also a down season (Sept) I think there is just one elevator. Our room had a small dorm fridge and a microwave. Bathroom was big enough but the stopper was in the drain so all the water that dripped had made a tub full of water. Continental breakfast was ok. Waffles, fruit, coffee, juice, yogurt, eggs, bagels, cold biscuits and country gravy. Again this is a super CHEAPO and prob best for someone who isnt going to be in the room much and on a budget. Its not a roach motel but its not on the same level as most Choice Hotels either.

The refrigerator in our room didn't stay cool on the bottom and the freezer wasn't a frost free and looked like it hadn't been thawed in some time...afraid to put anything in there. At night, it sounded like there was a party going on in the streets under our balcony, so loud some nights didn't get to sleep till early in the morning. People loitering in the parking lot at night made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe...found myself parking as close as I could to the hotel and running in the rest of the way. The only plus was that it was across the street from the beach....for the money, I guess this is what you get. Wont make that mistake again.

Hotel wasn't great but not terrible. Room was clean and staff was friendly....Across from ocean and close to everything. Would stay here again; had a nice time.

As the title states, the staff was nice, but the building needs to be remodeled. The map on their website shows them on the beach, but they are not on the beach. It does say that in the text, but the map is misleading. I was allowed to look at the room prior to checking in, but they assured me that I would be charged for the entire weekend whether I stayed or not. This was my first time to Myrtle Beach, & the whole place looks like a redneck riviera, so this hotel fits right in. Other than the check-in/no cancellations issue, the desk staff was very nice, and tried to accommodate within the owner's guidelines. Too bad Steve Joyce didn't visit this hotel when he did "Undercover Boss"!
