“Good for Tanger Outlet shoppers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

We stayed one night to shop the outlets off 501. The room was clean. The front desk clerk was very nice and the continental breakfast was very good. However, the beds were hard and they use small pillows that look like throw pillows. They worked fine but that was weird. They still use the older style TV's rather than flat screens. I tried to get extra pillows that evening but when I asked the front desk clerk they said that housekeeping is the only one that could give me extra pillows and, guess what, they aren't there in the evenings. So, your stuck with what you have. Overall, it was a good hotel but it is high for what you get. I'm sure it's because it is next the Tanger Outlet.

“Clean rooms. Communication between front desk and staff needs work.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2011

In their favor, the rooms and linens were clean, and the beds (though older) were basically comfortable. For the price, we expected just "the basics". However, communication between the front desk staff and cleaning crew needs some work. The first room we were given was still occupied. When we advised the front desk clerk of this error, he was confused, but gave us another room. The morning of check out, the cleaning crew began knocking on our door at 10:56 asking if we would check out by 11am. Although we advised her we had a late check out, we were still visited five times, and asked to check out. When we checked out, the front desk clerk confirmed that the late checkout was noted in their computer, and apologized profusely for the error, saying we could return to the room if we liked. However, at that point, we already felt rushed and were packed to leave.

“Moving our son”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 April 2011

We moved our son to Myrtle Beach for school and stayed at the Sleep Inn for one night. It was clean, comfortable, and the staff was great! Breakfast was nice, included waffles, and was in a decent sized room. I would recommend this hotel for the casual traverler.

“Not Much Rest Not Much Service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2010

It's bad enough that the building is beside 501 highway and a service station that has deliveries and trash collection through the night. It also has a very rude night clerk who is impatient and seems turned off by having to leave the tv long enough to do his job helping guests. When I arrived the front entry door was open but he was not present so I had to ring for him. Anyone would be free to walk in. He also allows guests far too much leeway to make noise. At 2 am there were disruptive guests nearby slamming their door as they went in and out repeatedly saying, he 'cannot stop them from goin' in and out'. If you want a secure location where you can get a peaceful night's rest and caring service, this is not it.

“Not a good value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2010
1
person found this review helpful

Came for a quick trip with the family to Myrtle Beach. The room was ok, a little musty, the beds and bedding were below average. The room and bath were clean. The entire Fitness center was out of order. The breakfast area is not nearly big enough for the hotel and the breakfast was not re-stocked enough for the number of guests using it. For the price you pay here, it's not worth it.
