“A great place to stay on the ocean at Myrtle Beach S.C.!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2010

This was my second year in a row staying at the Breakers Resort and at their Sailfish Tower. The Breakers offers everything that you would want in an "ocean front' resort. There are 5 pools, sauna and gym hot tubs and plenty of beachfront as well as good food and their own parking garage. The rooms were very nice and the staff was very friendly and helpful. After my stay there last year, I made up my mind that I would stay there again this year and i was not disappointed. If I needed anything, they were quick to take care of it. I was there for Mustang Week with 2 cars and needed parking for both. They made sure that I had it. I would highly recommend the Breakers, for its location, facilities and hospitality....oh, and the ocean front rooms are awesome too!

Breakers is a great resort. The check in was very fast and the front desk did not give us any problems as to how many wrist bands we needed, or parking passes. The parking garage is right across the street from the hotel, so that was very convenient. The hotel is a little pricey, but it is worth it if you can afford it. I love that there are four buildings right next to one another with four different pools. So it is very easy to find a pool that is not crowded when you just want to swim. They did open another building that is on 27th ave. and the others are on 21st, but we did not go down to that one. It may not actually be a full 7 blocks away from the main property. You do still get to enjoy all the property even if you are in the building on 27th, but you will need to come down to 21st to do so. This was my 2nd stay at Breakers and we rented a 2 bedroom suite the first time and a 3 bedroom suite the second time. The suite was very clean with 2 full baths, full kitchen, and washer and dryer. The only thing I could complain about is that when you needed extra sheets, pillows, etc., you have to go and get them from the front desk, they do not bring them up to you, but that was not really a big deal.

“The worst hotel ever!”

The building is dirty, old, and in need of a complete renovation. The first night when we arrived, the elevator was not working. It stopped a few times and we reported it to the front desk. We were on the eighth floor so had to make the climb. The next night, we were woken at 1:30 a.m. with the emergency alarm sounding. We had to evacuate the building. Apparently water in the elevator shaft caused the alarm to activate. We climbed back up 8 flights and went back to bed. An hour later, the alarm sounded again. The fire department was there again. The hotel staff then TURNED OFF THE FIRE ALARM so it would quit going off. The next day, the elevator didn't get fixed until late afternoon. So we were climbing again. The staff was rude when we inquired about the elevator being fixed. We also had a cockroach in our room. I would NEVER stay here again. For over $200 a night, you can find somewhere cleaner and safer than the Sailfish. It was TERRIBLE!

“Our first stay at Breakers...highly recommend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 May 2010

We decided to give Breakers, Sailfish Tower a try this year. We loved the smallness of the building. It was less crowded, more quiet and the elevator was quick with no waiting.
Our room was a 2 br, 2 ba with living room and full kitchen. The spacious design impressed us the most. The two twin beds advertised were full size and there was a tv in that bedroom which I wasnt expecting. Having the full size frig and the washer/dryer was a plus. We also had a balcony that extended the length of two rooms. In addition, we had a large deck area on the side of the room where you could lay out or just relax.
If you drink coffee, take your coffee and filters. We took a cup at a time machine with us.
We were very close to all amenities of The Breakers hotel and at the same time we had a pool area and a grassy area to lay out. There is a Breyers ice cream shop/Jaybos pizza shop across the street below the parking deck. That was very convenient and the pizza was awesome. We would definitely stay at Breakers Sailfish again. IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING WITH SMALL CHILDREN, YOU MIGHT RATHER STAY THE TOWER WHERE THE PIRATE SHIP IS.

“Great Place to Stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 April 2010

I travel to Myrtle Beach for a business meeting. Rooms were reasonable priced. The place was remodled resently and looks and feels great. Directly on the ocean with a great view. The staff was friendly and professional. The stay was great and my business went well also.
