We got a great deal through Priceline on a room in Mount Pleasant at the Holiday Inn. We arrived to a very spacious & clean room. The hotel lobby is nice as well. It was New Year's Eve, so it was very festive atmosphere. The evening clerk (don't recall her name) was very friendly and helpful. Check-in was a breeze. We actually got a "handicap" room, which was very nice and spacious, but the shower was a bit challenging due to the hand held sprayer and lack of water pressure - and the water didn't get hot enough for my taste, personally.
We visited the bar area & had a light snack & adult beverage before heading out for our NYE event in downtown Charleston. The service was a bit slow & stilted, but we liked the convenience.
We stayed 3 nights & housekeeping did a great job of cleaning our room whenever we were out (we made sure to put our "do not disturb" sign out so they'd know when they could access the room). However, they failed to give us enough plastic/foam cups for beverages and forgot to give us coffee condiments. Still, they were unobtrusive and did not create any unnecessary noise.
The 1st night, we were awakened in the wee hours of the morning by a crying baby next door - this went on for hours. We hated to complain, but we finally had to call down to the desk & let them know as we weren't able to sleep (the walls are pretty thin). They got right on it and we didn't hear much else after that.
We did miss not having a free breakfast of any sort (but made do in our room), the lack of a fridge/microwave in our room and not having a hot tub or jacuzzi accessible. However, we know that's the deal when you get a room when bidding on Priceline.
The convenience to downtown Charleston is great. We were able to drive there within 10 minutes and since we love the Ravenel bridge, it was always a pleasure to see it each time we traveled. We also went for a long walk to Patriot's Point. It's nice that you can do this from the hotel. There are general restaurants in the area, but we come for the downtown experience, so didn't venture into any of these.
All in all, our stay at the Holiday Inn in Mount Pleasant was very nice, especially considering the price. We'd definitely stay there again under similar circumstances.

Dear Luvtotravel1965,
Thank you for your comments on TripAdvisor.
We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and I'll share your comments with both the Front Office and Housekeeping staff at our next meeting.
I do appreciate the comments regarding the areas that we could improve upon also (coffee amenities) and will ensure that we are replenishing these items in the rooms of our guests who stay more than one night. While this should be completed consistently, we obviously failed in your case and want to correct this for future guests.
I will offer my recommendation that while your stay was booked through a third party that you enroll in Priority Club. While you will not accumulate points, you will be recognized as having a stay and this will be a benefit to you in that you could possibly receive such room upgrades, special offers, meal discounts, etc... Consider this in any future visits that you stay at a Holiday Inn.
Thank you for your comments as well as your patronage.
Best regards,
David Jones
