As a Platinum Choice Hotels customer my wife and I stay at a lot of similar properties. Sometimes our friends join us as well. I look for value, convenient location, a reasonable breakfast and friendly customer service. We were visiting Charleston, SC. We chose this one because of its reasonable price compared to anything else downtown. It was also very close to the Isle of Palms beach area and with excellent access to the mall. The place is only a 12 minute drive from the Charleston historic district. I booked two rooms for two nights at a discounted pre-paid price. When my wife read some of the other reviews, she was very concerned. We checked-in with trepidation. We were checked in by a very helpful gentleman who showed me the kiosk computer, helped me print and chatted with me at length about various topics and told me he loved the 3pm to 11pm shift for the opportunity to check in people and chat. The next morning (Sunday) five of us arrived at breakfast and the menu blew us away: scrambled eggs plain and with sausage and cheese, grits, ham, waffles, boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit and all the usual continental breakfast assortment. A tall man came over from time to time to chat us up, clear our tables and make us feel very welcome. Breakfast on day two (Monday) was even more amazing: corned beef hash, sausages, scrambled eggs, and grits. The orange juice was thick and very tasty. The same man came once again to look after us at breakfast. The beds in both our rooms were very comfortable, rooms were spacious and everything was up to the standard we would expect at this type of property. If we ever visit Charleston again we would stay here again without hesitation. The GPS did trip us up finding the place but as we continued to drive on Hungryneck we saw the sign.
