We went on a trip to Charleston for the labor day weekend and since the trip was not planned we didn't make any reservations. This was the only hotel that had room availability and we had no option but to take the smoking room. The lobby on that floor smelt horrible and the air conditioner in the room didn't work. The lady @ the reception was prompt at moving us to another room but this room the bathroom door didn't lock up we'll and also the remote for tv was not functioning properly. Overall we were glad to have got some accommodation but probably would explore other options next time.

Stayed at the Extended StayAmerica Charleston-Mt Pleasant, SC for the first time Feb. 24-26, 2011. The room was super clean, had a full kitchen and everything you need.
The location is close to the beautiful bridge going to downtown Charleston. I was always hesitant about staying at and extended stay hotel but this changed my mind.
I was in Charleston to go to the hospital and wanted to be comfortable, sleep well, convenient and have good friendly and SUPER CLEAN service and surroundings.
On one side you have a view of the bridge. If you need extra towels or toiletries you are taken care of. The people were very friendly that worked there and the guests were equally as friendly!!
Definately will stay again and highly recommend!

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at this hotel in Mount Pleasant. Unless you want to risk being in the path of the paper mill stench in North Charleston, this is the only place where you can get a room with a full sized fridge, cooktop, and microwave. It's not bad--there just aren't many other amenities. No ice machine, no pool, no relationship with any other fitness center, spa, or pool. The staff are friendly, but the young lady who checked us in was close to clueless. The room was mostly clean, but the flooring had been mopped with a dirty mop and was sticky. I had to clean it with wet paper towels to get rid of the stickiness and some of the aroma of the cleaning solution. That said, the flat screen TV is nice, and there are 2 channels of Showtime. There are two desks/tables, two Aeron-like chairs, and one comfy recliner. The bed is a bit firm for my taste, but it's OK. Will we come back? Probably. Do we wish there was a pool/spa and/or access to one through some reciprocal relationship with another organization. Absolutely.

DO NOT stay at this hotel! This hotel is not worth the rates they charge, their rates are based on one person per room and there is an extra fee for every person after that . Beds are hard as a rock, there is no room/cleaning service unless you stay a full week(7 or more nights). If you want your room cleaned before then you have to purchase an additional cleaning, as they put it. If you want fresh towels you have to exchange your dirty ones at the front desk. There isnt even a trash can in the rooms except for a tiny one under the bathroom sink. A lot of construction workers seem to be living here temporarily while they are working in the area. A short drive to historical downtown Charleston is really the only plus here...but at the same time there are numerous other hotels within a 1/4 mile radius to choose from.
