“After reading bad reviews I felt compelled to set the record straight.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2010

My mother and I stayed at this motel in spite of the bad reviews, which I read after I had made my reservations. I have never had a bad experience with a Days Inn, and this was no exception. We requested a non smoking room. We were adamant about not wanting a room that smelled like animals. Our room was very clean and pet odor free.. The AC and toilets worked perfectly. The beds were extremely comfortable. I spoke with 2 other couples the following morning while enjoying the continental breakfast in the lobby about their experience and they were very pleased with their stay and the accommodations as well. We had ample towels, hair blower, coffee maker, iron and ironing board. I chose this motel because it was more economical than any others in the area close to the Casino boats. I did not expect all the amenities as well. The decor was very attractive.

“good/reasonable place to stay, friendly staff”

We went for our family vacation and we didn't have budget to stay near the beach and this place was very reasonable and close to beach and other attractions. The room/place was clean, spacious and comfortable, staff were very nice and helpful and helped with local hints and tips and recommended the good restaurants around the area for family. They had complimentary breakfast which was perfect to start a day. We would go back to this place and recommend to someone who like to save money and stay at good place.
Thanks,

In need of a room and had no choice due to labor day. Walked in the room it was embeded with cigarette smoke iwe could barely breathe. Their were brown stains on walls sheets everywhere we looked. We complained and it took the manager to show us three rooms before we took a half decent one. Upon entering the shower we found min of five pubic hairs. And I swayre a large hairball wedged under the bathroom door that looked like a rodent. While taking a shower in discust I saw hanging on the shower pole a dried up used towel. I was ready to leave!!!! While I was complaining I got lip from manager and had to show him the dead spider hanging from the kitchen cabinet he acted like I was in the wrong I couldn't believe it.seroiousllly trust these reviews !!!!!!!!!!!

“Pretty bad”

It doesn't take a lot to impress me, and this place didn't.

We were desperate for a place to stay, having arrived late at night the weekend before July 4th week on a spur-of-the-moment trip. No rooms on Ocean Blvd, so we went to Little River. The HI had at least one room left, but it was $160 for the night. On the beach, maybe, but not on Hwy 17. The Days Inn was $120 and we got a AAA rate that was about 10% off. Slept and went to find a decent place the next day.

First, we opened the door to the room and were blasted by a rush of hot air. It had obviously been vacant for at least that whole day, because the AC clearly hadn't been on all day. Luckily, it had a refrigerator, so we cranked the AC and the fridge and turned on the bathroom exhaust fan.

Second, it was filthy. I've stayed in some pretty low-rent places, but this was the first time I ever kept my shoes on any time I walked in the room. Disgusting. I half-expected to find a dead hooker's body under the bed. One of those places you fold up the bedspread and put it away.

Having an old hotel is fine. I can understand not being able to keep up with the cosmetic stuff. Not cleaning adequately is just sorriness. This dive is sorry.
