The Abingdon Manor is a great romantic destination! Patty and Michael are great hosts, and Patty creates some wonderful dishes for dinner. We went there specifically for our anniversary, but, since it's so close to I-95 exit 181 in South Carolina (about 10 to 15 minutes), we can see where it'd be a great place to stay when going north or south on I-95, as the other 2 couples did who shared the Manor with us that night. Everything about the Abingdon Manor is excellent, from the furnishings, to the meal, to the wine selection, soft beds, soft towels - hey, we loved the place! The Abingdon Manor is the destination, as there's nothing much else around, but, once you get there, you won't want to leave anyway!

We found this wonderful spot in the Select Registry Guide after staying in a sister property last summer. The decor and our room was all top-notch as were our hosts, Mike & Patti. Since we were the first to book for the night we stayed, we were able to influence the dinner menu and chose a seafood newburg which was delicious. Breakfast was also wonderful with a large bowl of fresh fruits followed by a breakfast BLT. Needless to say, you'll love this spot if you are a foodie. Nice touch after dinner too when we found a chilled split of champagne and chocolates waiting for us in our room.

This review is long overdue. We stayed 1 night in Aug.2010 and wished we had time to spend another night or 2. We were greeted by the asst.innkeeper and shown to our room on the 1st floor which is beautiful and has the original plantation shutters and king bed. She gave us a tour of the property and explained the history of the home. The grounds,porches and common rooms are gorgeous and wonderfully kept. We had dinner at the inn which is served in lovely sun porch and was a gourmet experience not to be missed. Although there isn't alot to do in Latta we look forward to finding the time to return to the inn for a romantic weekend!

We have been staying at this wonderful B&B on our Trips back and forth from Cape Cod to Miami since 2004. It is such a wonderful feeling to by pass the less than adaquate accomodations along I-95 in the Carolinas and relax on an old fashioned southern porch with a drink and listen to the birds after a long days drive. The owners, Mike and Patty Griffin make you feel very important every time you visit. There are only 5 or 6 rooms, all decorated differently. There is also a large foyer area and living rooms that Mike serfes coctails every night at 7pm in preparation for their one seating sharply at 7:30. The meal is usually 4-6 courses and is prepared by Mikes other half and wonderful chef, Patty. What.s interesting is there is no menu to chose from and the usual procedure is the fist one booking the first room of the night gets to pick the main course. The meals are posted on their web site for every night of the month. If you would like something else they are quick to accomodate you.
Breakfast is served every morning from 7:45 and it is again a wonderfully prepared meal by an accomplished Chef, Patty. They have packages that put together cooking lessions with your stay. Patty also has a cooking show on local TV.

Do yourself a favor and experiance this 4 diamond gem located about 10 minutes off I-95 in Latta, SC. You can book online and at the expense of giving away my secret room is the Master, the only first floor room at the Inn with a King bed and separate claw foot tub and walkin shower.
