Thankfully I only stayed one night at this hotel because there is no way I would have stayed there more than one night. Initially I was in 411 but found out that the lock on the door did not work. Even with the dead bolt on, anyone could walk right in. I was then switched to 418. Although the rooms area REALLY spacious, it did not seem clean to me. The couch was FILTHY. I didn't even sit on it. The carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in months! I never walked around in the room barefoot because it looked so dirty.
I did check the bed for bedbugs and didn't see anything, but I did lay across the bedspread and when I sat up, my back was itching all of a sudden. Surprisingly, the bed was really comfortable and I did sleep well.
The hallways smell slightly of smoke and the room my parents were in (410) smelled like smoke but the scent of mildew was the dominant scent in the room.
If this hotel was renovated, then it would be a contender with the other hotels in the area. Until then, I wouldn't stay here again and would gladly pay the extra $15 to stay at Hyatt Place.
