I am writing this post Wednesday morning of our vacation as I'm sitting here drinking coffee, wishing I could be on the back porch, but there is a ladder in the way.
Overall the condo was not bad, but we had some issues I thought I would post.
We were led to believe the reason we received 25% off was due to last minute booking, but after we arrived, we realized it as probably due to the construction on the buildings. Approximately 8:45 each morning a contractor would walk to our back porch & plug in his equipment, ladders everywhere, gutter scrap & misc construction materials. One day middle of the afternoon we were woke up from a nap by pounding on the walls with a hammer. In the mornings we had to keep our blinds pulled due to contractors on ladders and walking around just outside our windows & doors.
The condo was clean, nice, well furnished, but a little dated. The refrigerator was old & the door would not shut properly, the microwave was also very old & the vent across the top fell off the first time we used it, it had been previously taped. Some tile in the kitchen floor was broken. The closet by the entry door smelled terribly of fish, we didn't open it after the first day. Over all everything was clean, there was WIFI & nice TV's.
The back door did not lock properly & the front door had a electric combo lock with no "back up" lock on the inside.
Again, it was somewhat dated, but with just a little updating, this would be a very nice unit. We did have to drive to the beach & pool, always plenty of parking at the pool, but beach parking was a nightmare. As an earlier review stated there was an alligator in our pond behind the condo which our kids enjoyed seeing.
It's now Wednesday @ 9:00am & the ladders are already banging on the side of the building. Now that I’m finishing this review up, the ladder noise has reached an annoyance level that I called the property manager.
Hope this helps you decide your next trip. Just be sure to ask if there will be any construction on the building before you commit to a unit.
