The best thing about the Island Club, a mix of timeshares and other condos, is its location literally steps from Hilton Head's wonderful beach. This feature is by no means common on HHI; a walk of some distance is often required. (The Disney Club renters even have to drive across the main parkway to get to their beach from their condos.) The Seawatch timeshare unit is an aging condo building that has been upgraded in recent years presumably under new management. Both the exterior and unit interiors have benefitted from the renovations, which include things like flat-panel Sony TV's, new bedding, furniture, carpeting, etc.The spacious and comfortable units have functional, middle-of-the-line kitchen appliances. Our stay was bookended by two drawbacks. Upon arrival late at night, we couldn't find the luggage cart corral, which we discovered in the morning inexplicably was on the landing of the 2nd floor. Upon depature, the instructions were to strip the bedding, run the dishwasher and take out the trash--not exactly a fun way to end our stay.
