“A Cozy Spot by the Beach”

The Village is a nice complex within the huge Palmetto Dunes Plantation. It has its own small pool and is just a short walk to a beautiful beach. Our unit was clean and comfortable, although a little cramped for four people. It's starting to show its age, but was well maintained. The staff was friendly and very helpful. There's plenty to do with access to tennis and golf. We rented bikes and kayaks from the business across the road.

“What an AMAZING place!”

We just got back from spending a week at The Village at Palmetto Dunes. I can not say enough good things about this place! We had to reschedule a planned vacation in the Outer Banks due to a Hurricane and we ended up at The Village at Palmetto Dunes in Hilton Head Island. We had never been to Hilton Head or The Village before, so we weren't sure what to expect. I called The Village's main office the day prior to heading down to get more information on the area and the setting. Jan in the office, was GREAT! She was so helpful and really made us feel like we made the right decision. We felt so welcomed and were really looking forward to our stay.

We stayed in a Studio Efficiency which can sleep 4 (Queen bed and Sofa bed), it had a bathroom, kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. It was very quaint and we felt comfortable immediately. Some of the lighting fixtures/decorations were a little dated, but the huge mounted flat screen TV made up for it! :) I think that the decor/set up gives The Village it's charm. It was VERY clean. We immediately felt like it was home! I can honestly say that I had no issues sleeping through the night there, when I normally wake up a ton when I stay in a new place! That says a lot! It also had a great view of the Lagoon!

We were only about a 5 minute walk to the beach and The Dunes House (Try the Fish Tacos!). The beach was very clean and wasn't overly crowded. It was perfect. We also used the pool at The Village daily. We liked that it had a deep end that went to 8ft. The pool was great and had plenty of shade/sun. I do wish their was a Kiddie pool, but we managed well with the big pool, so no complaints! There was also a Jacuzzi, that I didn't get to try out because it was too hot outside, but it looked pretty comfortable. The area was very well kept and clean, so no worries walking around or going into the pool/lounge area.

Everyone was very friendly. The community was great. We had several conversations with people staying at The Village when we were walking around and in the pool. It felt like it's own community. Renting bikes down there is a MUST! There are so many places to check out and trails to ride. We loved every bit.

Overall, I would highly recommend checking out The Village. It has so much character and it feels like home away from home! It truly saved my vacation and helped me find a new love in Hilton Head! I can't wait to go back next year! We are already planning our trip! I hope you enjoy it too!

“A fantastic location.”

This is our second visit to the Village at Palmetto Dunes. We stayed in one of the townhouses, which had more square footage than our home in the UK so we really loved the space. I have read other peoples reviews that say the accomodation is a bit dated, and while I agree that some of the soft furnishings and light fittings could do with being brought into the 21st century that is all that is old fashioned about the units. The amenties are top class and one could live their permanently never mind just a holiday. The units are set in trees that give welcome shade, the aircon is really efficient( some afternoons we came in from the beach and switched it off as it was too cold). The beach is a 5 min walk and is a wonderful stretch of clean white sand. There is a lovely bar, cafe and restroom facilites there. The pool area is small but has showers and drink fountains, comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas. we were treated really well, the lady in the office is so helpful and had remembered us from our trip 3 years previously. We like to play a lot of golf and played some superb courses. Can recommend Cresent point and Hilton Head National. Really peaceful and beautiful courses a short drive off the island. We ate at some great restauants - didnt have one bad meal in our 2.5 week stay. Can highly recommend Frankie Bones, Outback, Longhorn, Salty Dog, Bistro 21. Hilton Head has loads to offer couples or families but to get to appreciate everything you really need a car.

“Excellent vacation spot”

We were here on a multi-family vacation and really enjoyed it. Small grounds, which was fine by us. The rooms were clean and had all you would need. A small pool..but it was never crowded. The office workers, esp Jan, were tremendous. Make sure to get to the Ocean, which was a seven-minute walk, past the Moorings.
