We just got back from spending a week at The Village at Palmetto Dunes. I can not say enough good things about this place! We had to reschedule a planned vacation in the Outer Banks due to a Hurricane and we ended up at The Village at Palmetto Dunes in Hilton Head Island. We had never been to Hilton Head or The Village before, so we weren't sure what to expect. I called The Village's main office the day prior to heading down to get more information on the area and the setting. Jan in the office, was GREAT! She was so helpful and really made us feel like we made the right decision. We felt so welcomed and were really looking forward to our stay.
We stayed in a Studio Efficiency which can sleep 4 (Queen bed and Sofa bed), it had a bathroom, kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. It was very quaint and we felt comfortable immediately. Some of the lighting fixtures/decorations were a little dated, but the huge mounted flat screen TV made up for it! :) I think that the decor/set up gives The Village it's charm. It was VERY clean. We immediately felt like it was home! I can honestly say that I had no issues sleeping through the night there, when I normally wake up a ton when I stay in a new place! That says a lot! It also had a great view of the Lagoon!
We were only about a 5 minute walk to the beach and The Dunes House (Try the Fish Tacos!). The beach was very clean and wasn't overly crowded. It was perfect. We also used the pool at The Village daily. We liked that it had a deep end that went to 8ft. The pool was great and had plenty of shade/sun. I do wish their was a Kiddie pool, but we managed well with the big pool, so no complaints! There was also a Jacuzzi, that I didn't get to try out because it was too hot outside, but it looked pretty comfortable. The area was very well kept and clean, so no worries walking around or going into the pool/lounge area.
Everyone was very friendly. The community was great. We had several conversations with people staying at The Village when we were walking around and in the pool. It felt like it's own community. Renting bikes down there is a MUST! There are so many places to check out and trails to ride. We loved every bit.
Overall, I would highly recommend checking out The Village. It has so much character and it feels like home away from home! It truly saved my vacation and helped me find a new love in Hilton Head! I can't wait to go back next year! We are already planning our trip! I hope you enjoy it too!
