We rented Seacrest 2213 through Sunset Rentals. This was out 13th year traveling to Hilton Head for April break. We have stayed in several resort complexes , and at the Seacrest once before.. We usually stay at the Marriott Grande Ocean, but it was fully booked. To begin with, the rental agent assured us that the on-site restaurant and pool bar would be open. They were both out of business. When we checked in, the hot tub was closed-no heat and did not reopen for over 24 hours. The indoor hot tub never got above 90 degrees all week. The sheets on one of the queen beds had fresh bloodstains. We did not discover this until we got in to bed at night. I later found a fresh bag of linens behind the door. Maybe the cleaning company forgot to change the sheets in the bedroom with two queens? I called the office but they were closed, so left a message. Noone called back, so I washed all of the linens. On day two, two of our locked rental bikes were stolen right out of the garage. I noticed many non-renters or owners cutting through the property. We have never experienced this in HH before. Although most doors were locked and accessible only with codes, the main doors facing the busiest area where the restaurant used to be were open and unmanned. I brought this to the property managers attention. He just shrugged. On the last day, after a wonderful afternoon at the beach, we went back up to sit in the hottub. We spoke with a couple exiting the spa then prepared to get in. The jets stopped, and low and behold, the bottom of the hot tub was littered with feces. Yuck. I guess someone forgot their swim diaper! I had to call the rental company yet again, as the manager's emergency number was not in service. In looking back, I could not begin to make this up! In thirteen years we have never had these issues before, and will not rent at the Seacrest again!
