“Decent property & location; a bit crowded”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2011

We stayed at Sea Crest Villas in late June during a family vacation in Hilton Head. The first thing you'll notice is there are 3-4 numerical codes that everyone needs to memorize (garage code, pool bathroom code, villa code, etc.) which is a bit of a pain. If you're arriving on a Saturday afternoon, be prepared for chaos as there are dozens of other families trying to unload their luggage and beach gear, and the elevators are very slow and luggage carts are limited.

The property is actually pretty nice. Both pools were well-maintained and our 2-BR villa was an ideal size for our family. All of the rooms have free WiFi. The beach is very wide here, particularly at low tide (probably 150 yards wide). It is quite crowded here because it's close to Coligny public beach access, but it's you'll still have space to toss a football.

Shopping, etc. is directly across the street (Coligny Plaza) and this is quite convenient. Many visitors choose to rent bikes for the week and get around that way vs. driving. Many actually ride their bikes on the beach, which has flat, hard-packed sand near the shoreline. Fun activities during the summer include fireworks at Shelter Cove, seeing Gregg Russell at Harbour Town (a MUST DO if you have small children!), and golfing.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend Sea Crest to other families visiting Hilton Head Island.

“One issue after another...”

We rented Seacrest 2213 through Sunset Rentals. This was out 13th year traveling to Hilton Head for April break. We have stayed in several resort complexes , and at the Seacrest once before.. We usually stay at the Marriott Grande Ocean, but it was fully booked. To begin with, the rental agent assured us that the on-site restaurant and pool bar would be open. They were both out of business. When we checked in, the hot tub was closed-no heat and did not reopen for over 24 hours. The indoor hot tub never got above 90 degrees all week. The sheets on one of the queen beds had fresh bloodstains. We did not discover this until we got in to bed at night. I later found a fresh bag of linens behind the door. Maybe the cleaning company forgot to change the sheets in the bedroom with two queens? I called the office but they were closed, so left a message. Noone called back, so I washed all of the linens. On day two, two of our locked rental bikes were stolen right out of the garage. I noticed many non-renters or owners cutting through the property. We have never experienced this in HH before. Although most doors were locked and accessible only with codes, the main doors facing the busiest area where the restaurant used to be were open and unmanned. I brought this to the property managers attention. He just shrugged. On the last day, after a wonderful afternoon at the beach, we went back up to sit in the hottub. We spoke with a couple exiting the spa then prepared to get in. The jets stopped, and low and behold, the bottom of the hot tub was littered with feces. Yuck. I guess someone forgot their swim diaper! I had to call the rental company yet again, as the manager's emergency number was not in service. In looking back, I could not begin to make this up! In thirteen years we have never had these issues before, and will not rent at the Seacrest again!

“Say in the Middle of it All”

Sea crest may not be the fanciest complex on Hilton Head but for a couples or family vacation it is perfect. First you are just across the street from Coligny Circle, a great place for shopping, dining all your vacation supplies. You can arrive and never get in your car again. Of course the beach access is great. You are next to North Forest Beach area which like most of the island is great for biking. However the latest addition is JP's Bar and Grill. Just off the beach in Sea Creat JP's (run by Aqua) serves great drinks, food and is a great place to hang out.. We have stayed at Sea Crest 3 times and are already planning our 2011 visit to Hilton Head. We will be staying at Sea Crest

“Sea Crest Villas and Hilton Head Insiders- thanks for a great trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2010

We had a great stay at the Sea Crest Villas September 23-26 2010. The property was located right on the beach with 2 pools, hot tub, restaurant & beach bar. We were across the street from Coligny Plaza- shopping, food, movie theater- perfect location! Beach Properties did a wonderful job organizing our stay, including providing us with bike rentals. We will definitely plan another stay here, only next time it will be longer!

“Excellent Location and Beach. Enjoyed the stay”

We have just returned from our 2nd stay at Seacrest, covering last summer and this one.
The location across from Coligny is outstanding, and it was nice to just walk over to grab our nightly frozen yoghurts or ice cream. Music, shopping and food are all available.

Our unit (same one both years) was clean, well appointed, good view of the beach, and comfy. Our bedroom did pick up a bit of noise from Coligny at night, however.

There are two pools on the property. One could use a bit of a plaster upgrade but it wasn't bad. My daughter really loves the swinging benches out by the pool. Water was mostly clean and there were always enough lounges. Good french fries at the Aqua shack poolside.

Parkling underground was easy and there are places to park rental bikes.
One thing of note: check out time is 10:00 a.m. on Saturdays. That means 10, not 10:05! Cleaning crew was right there at our door as we were leaving.

We rented through Vacation Company. They even came to our door on check-in day to make sure we had what we needed.

All in all, we really like Seacrest and if we return to HHI, I expect to stay there again.
