“Decent place, but tricky to find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

We stayed here just one night to check out some of the real estate in the area. We read the other reviews about the location being difficult to find. It is tricky, especially if it is dark and pouring rain. We ended up going past it, having to cross the bridge to the island and u-turn back to get to the hotel. After that, we had it figured out, but because of the median on the main road and limited u-turn places, it is tricky. The hotel was your average Hilton Garden Inn. The rooms were decent. The design of the lobby is a bit odd. You come in and are below the lobby with a large staircase in front of you. There is a small elevator there and there is a back entrance with covered parking apparently. We chose to park in front and enter that way, but be aware if you have a lot of luggage. We had a free cooked to order breakfast since we are Hilton Diamond members and the restaurant staff could not have been nicer. The hotel served our purposes well.

Dear Road-trip-43~
Greetings from Hilton Head! I am pleased that you found our hotel and that we were able to assist with your hospitality needs during your search for local real estate. Being located so close to the intracoastal water way our hotel does offer a unique layout as they built our hotel up off of the flood plain. If you are checking in with lots of luggage the best tip is to pull up front and leave all items in the car while you check in and then you may pull around to the rear of the property to use our luggage carts to assist with all heavy items. Give us a call anytime we may assist with your hospitality needs in the future!

Hilton Garden Inn - Hilton Head Team

“HGI Hilton Head”

This hotel is actually on the Bluffton side of the bridge, right across from the island. But its close enough if you want to go to the beach for the day. It is also convenient to Bluffton, including an outlet mall across the street. Many of the rooms are large two room suites, so if you get a room with two queen beds it also has a full sized pull out sofa, which is great for most families. They have the standard HGI pantry for made to order breakfast and evening room service. The hotel is clean, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Dear Rantoday~
Greetings from Bluffton/Hilton Head :) You are correct our Hilton Head address while being located on the Bluffton side of the bridge can be confusing. We like to say we have a Hilton Head address with Bluffton prices. As you described our location allows for easy access to all the Lowcountry has to offer. With 40 of our 104 rooms being suites your tip about families upgrading and utilizing the suites pull out couch is a great one. Please let us know the next time we may host your here in the Lowcountry!

“Great value, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

This Inn is several miles from the beach, but that doesn't matter if you spend the day at the beach, and just want a nice place to rest in the evening. About half of the rooms at this Inn are very comfortable two room suites. There is a large outlet center nearby as well as a selection of mid-range restaurants. The hotel is in a nice quiet setting, well off the main road that services Hilton Head Island.
On this particular stay, our reservation was misplaced. Complicating matters, we were using a Hilton Honors reward certificate - which normally is approved through central reservations. Big thank you to Juan at the front desk, who took a 'no problem' attitude and placed us in the room of our choice. The next morning, we had a voucher for buffet breakfast. We were surprised to have host Juwin tend our table like we were in a fine restaurant. The food was great, too.
Hotels are in the hospitality business, and they don't all take that word as literally as this Inn does.

Dear Hope W~
Greetings from the Hilton Garden Inn! Thank you very much for taking the time to share your thoughts about our hotel. We very much enjoy our location situated next to the intra coastal waterway as you never know what you might see in the marsh on any given day. Our staff and guests have been surprised to see a variety of wading birds, ospreys, eagles, and the occasional alligator...

Let us know the next time we may assist with your hospitality needs here in the Lowcountry!

The view of the marsh in the morning was beautiful and everyone at the hotel was always very helpful. I had to stay during the week for several weeks in a row and never had any issues or concerns.

Room Tip: Marsh and pond view are the best rooms!

Dear Hope W~
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts about our Inn with our team and fellow travelers. Our staff was very excited to hear that we were able to leave a lasting impression on you during your several weeks with us. Our team agrees that we are lucky to be located next to the lagoon and intracoastal waterway. Great tip about the views: While we do no sell rooms with upgrades views our staff may be able to place you on a higher floor closer to the water as our availability allows.
