We asked for an ocean view and also for the less noisy building possible as we were warned by timeshare company that construction is going on. Were told by phone call (thanks for the honesty) and at desk that we would be at the Garden Villa area but that the noise wouldn't be too bad bc it had been going on longer than the beach construction area. Not! The beachside villas had beach views and quiet.....
Construction starts at 9 (once at 8 with concrete pouring) and ends at 5; this was warned to us so we did expect it; extremely noisy, so we did take the day trips we had planned.....
Again, we were told the truth before we left home but wonder if all the units were filled (ocean view) by the owners (our view is overlooking a huge mess ((preparing for beautiful pool and facilities))......we don't mind the walk to the activities....
No restaurant (except a market w soup/sandwiches/convenience items), no bar....outdoor pool (heated) had to be closed for maintenance mid week; no tennis, put-put, there are bikes to rent.....
Our unit is great, large, w/dryer, balcony but it faces the construction....but we do love all the amenities of the unit....
Weather nicer than at home; 60's and a few days of sun.....
The management and staff were eager to make us happy w movies, free wine/beer tastings, breakfast, more than usual, nice of them....
Just disappointed in the lack of things to do (we aren't golfers) and with the noise and view of muddy construction outside our unit with bulldozers, etc. Asked to move? No, too full.
Like the people, like the unit, but seems there is more at the other Marriott properties...and the construction!
