We spend 3 days at this beach resort and felt like we had been on a luxury cruise for seven days. The location is on the northern side of the island, away from the hotel/shoppes circus of the rest of Hilton Head. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and the rooms small but beautiful. The long, white, impeccable beach stretches north and south for miles, wonderful for walking and running. The pool area is spacious, with many choices for sitting, reading, and taking in a quick meal. Wonderful work-out gym, and lap pool. We ate off resort for dinner, and had their large breakfast buffet each morning. Mainly we sat in beach chairs under umbrellas, read, slept, ate, and walked....it would be fine place to meet up as an extended family, and wonderful for kids --even pets!
We've been vacationing here at
The Westin for several years! Absolutely love it! The pools are beautiful w great little tiki bar and music and lunches by the pool. Just a few steps to the ocean from the pool. Rooms are always nice. View is great! Heavenly beds made us come home and fluff up our own bed w feather pillows, comforter and mattress topper! Spoils u!
Just recently visited for a conference. It was a beautiful resort. The views were awesome.
The grounds and pools were impecable. It definitely felt like a resort. The staff was friendly. The restaurant and bar prices were high. I agree with other posters that the carpets need to desparately be replaced, but otherwise I found the hotel to be clean and in great shape.
First, I'm not fond of isolated resorts of which the Westin Hilton Head is one. Nowhere to walk. At least 15 min. drive to anywhere.
That being said, the resort is in a nice location on a (currently) wide, sandy beach (beach reconstruction was going on during our stay closing the beach to the north). Beautiful grounds, three pools and lots of chairs and all the facilities expected.
Staff was polite but nothing more.
Lobby is average good but hallways are long and in big time need of new carpets and wallpaper. Rooms again are average. In particular, bathrooms are motel level.
Internet access is free but very spotty. Even in the business center I was not able to print out boarding passes.
Parking is free and plentiful.
Breakfast buffet on weekends is modest in price and selection.
We had dinner in Carolina Cafe which was good and reasonable in price for a resort. Restaurant staff were much friendlier than reception, etc.
We did get a very good rate and therefore we did have excellent value.
