We checked in at 5:30am and checked out at 7pm and was floored when we checked our bank statement and found 3 postings from the landmark! The account we used was an extra account used for trips and "extras" so we only had so much in our checking and the rest was in our savings. Because I was not expecting the additional charges the funds were not transfered from saving to checkings and I was charged an additional $72(36 per additional charge) for the bank to automatically transfer it for us. I called the manager who apologized and said he would refund our money but "could not help where the money came from" and would not do anything about the extra fees we had to pay. On top of all of this we still not had the charges refunded back to us. I feel that it was the hotel's error and we should not have to pay for their error. They have records that show the times we checked in and checked out so there is not excuse other than complete negligence! There was however a woman, Barbara, who has been wonderful in assisting me with all my attempts to have this issue resolved but without the manager's (Scott) consent her hands are tied and she is left stuck with nothing to offer but her apologies. I feel so sorry for this woman who has to work under such incompitence and carelessness! And I can't believe I paid three times the amount for a room that was less than satisfactory, the toilet was gross and the other bed had a lipstick stain on it!
