We stayed at the Hyatt in December to see a show at the Peace Center of the Performing Arts. The hotel is located right on Main Street. The Theater and City park are within walking distance, but only if you like walking. The hotel has a beautiful open atrium and at Christmas has decorated trees from local organizations. Service was great all around.

This is a great quaint street, great for shopping. The store fronts are historical. They have a hunt game for families, where you search for locations of little bronze mice that were part of the book, Goodnight Moon, by Margaret Wise Brown. You can get the search sheet from the General Store on Main street that lists all the locations of these mice.

I recently stayed at the Hyatt, and while the location is excellent (walking distance to downtown restaurants and shopping and the Bi-Lo Center), the hotel itself is very dated. The bathrooms definitely need updating. The lobby and guestrooms are not up to par for a Hyatt, and the hotel was under construction during my stay (however the price of the room did not reflect this). I chose the Hyatt for the location, and that's really what you're paying for.

Got to airport, call hotel. They inform they wont be able to pick me up for an hour and a half . I tell them that is unacceptable. They explain to me the next big group will be there then and thats when they would be sending the shuttle. I told them there was no way I would be standing there waiting for that long. They finally sent (frank ). Awesome guy.. He needs a raise. Check in went well. Great front desk staff. Get to room honestly kind of basic. Nothing special. They do leave a full mini tube of toothpaste which is kind of nice. But also a 4.00 bottle of water. Really for that price and the water couldnt either be free or maybe a reasonable price. Most of the rooms seemed to be connecting rooms. Those are nice if you need that. When you don't it just makes it easier to hear everything going on in next room. Breakfast was actually very good. Coffee was good. Nice assortment. But I filled a glass of orange juice and when I got back to table I noticed there was chocolate or something on the glass. How does a glass get put back out like that. Room was clean. The best part was location. Downtown Greenville and it was a beautiful town. I wish I would have had more time to see it. Several great shops and stores .. I would for sure visit downtown if you have time.

Stayed here for two nights in early November.

As soon as I pulled up, the bellman was at my car asking if I wanted valet parking. I told him I'd like self parking. He then asked if I wanted him to get my bags. When I said no, he said I should park the car then check in. I travel a lot and every hotel I stay at allows you to stop in front, check in, then move your car. I told him, I'll be back and just walked away. As soon as I turned from the front desk, he said you'll have to leave your keys or move your car. Don't know if this was a hotel policy or just this bellman. There was plenty of room in front of the hotel, but they had it all blocked with parking cones in order to reserve the spots for valet parking.

Check in went ok, room was fine other than an extremely small bathroom. Door opened against side of the tub. Had to lean over toilet to close door to get in shower.

Daily charge for internet (one of my pet peeves). It seems the more you pay for a room, the more they want. Cheaper hotels provide free internet, why can't the nicer chains.

These were actually small issues. The room was clean and nice (other than bathroom being small). Elevators were fast, so very short wait. Good breakfast (we had a package the came with breakfast each day). First day had an issue with waitress not bringing us coffee (until we asked) and taking omelet order then not bringing it back (until we asked another waitress). No problems the second day. Food was good for a buffet style breakfast.

Location is great if you're looking to explore downtown Greenville. Lobby has an exit onto Main Street. We walked everywhere we went.

There were a few issues, but I wouldn't "not stay here". We originally wanted to stay at the Westin, but it was sold out. I will still try to stay at the Westin for my next trip, but if not available, I would accept the Hyatt.
